spicy ketchup!!!

Actually in Italy many regions don't use a red sauce at all!

I am sure there would be something you would LOVE!

my thing with alot of their food is some of their spices don't sit well with my stomach

and how can ppl say caribbean food is too starchy but italian is not?

hubby says its because i've never had REAL italian food and that's probably it

he has so much to show me and i'm so looking fwd to it :star:

We have food differences even in the US - Mexican food in TX is totally diff than in CT - you can't get decent pizza in the south like you can in CT or NY - you have a hard time finding good soul food in the NOrth etc....

I TOTALLY understand. I cannot eat alot of red sauce... Or too much heavy stuff. I had my gall baldder out in my 20's which made it better but I have some IBS for sure! After going veg again it is alot more under control. I get alot of teasing from my friends and family... about not being able to take me anywhere....

I cannot have cow's milk AT ALL! Ugh... you do not wanna be around me! LOL

For some reason though spicey isnt all that bad.

When I was eating meat... curry goat was a fave. When in JA thats all I would eat!! :)

I am sure taste buds will change. Mine still do. I like things now I maybe didnt 10 years ago.

Like onions!

Louis is picky... no onions, no garlic. But he will try things I make, its hit or miss. There are a couple things I make he likes more than others.

He thinks its weird when I eat fresh mozzarella and tomatoes. He said he didnt like olives... now he asks for them.

A lot of Jamaicans can be very unadventurous when it comes to food. Simple is definitely good, and if you can buy some browning, even better.

Food like baked chicken, fried chicken, pepper steak Jamaican style with green peppers etc, chicken wings, maybe turkey wings. If he eats pork, roast pork with browning on it. Everything should be brown. He may like grilled salmon, mashed potatoes, no lemon on the salmon. Basic simple salads with stripsof chicken....Mac and cheese...steamed vegetables, carrots, peas, cabbage etc. and of course whatever Jamaican dishes you can cook....

No extra spices, just the basics as Jamaicans do it, salt, black pepper, all purpose seasoning, thyme, pimento seeds, spring onions, tomatoes, garlic, hot pepper.

hahaha.. JaE..this makes me feel so much better because I could not figure out any more sauces other than brown stew, curry and jerk!

So I call in "sick" today to play hookie with hubby and spent all day in the Emergency Room with mom (She's ok now), and I check in at 9 p.m. to find 15 users, 5 guests and 2 anonymous. Let me get my popcorn and see what I missed today!
