on a side note, i think it is so damn ridiculous to charge someone 5,000 to tell them they can get married

a crock of effery

Think of it this way Bunz...would you rather pay the $5000 JA to reassure everybody that the beneficiary is FREE TO MARRY...OR...would you rather you go through the trouble of this whole process & get married, only to find out later that your marriage is invalid because "the love of your life" never got a divorce from their previous marriage.... I'll take it...Think about the time/money/feelings spent when it's too late...

Anyone watching the Hip Hop Honors? I have my kids cracking up while I'm doing the cabbage patch, snake and kid n play. Wow a girl has got too big I feel like I'm having a asthma attack and they are cracking up at me. I told them this was the stuff back in my day. Wait back in my day hell I sound old.

Hey do anybody know if we get the Certificate(s) of Non-Impediment to Marriage from the same place you request the police clearance??? oh and how much do this Certificate(s) of Non-Impediment to Marriage cost???

My fiance went to the RGD office in Kingston ..but its not the same place where u get the police record..he paid $5000 ja for the "7 day service" but when he went they told him the system was down and that it would take more than seven days..and that they would mail it to him..it took about 2 1/2 weeks..he finally got it last friday..i would suggest to get it from now to avoid the headache..the police took no time he got it the same week he went to apply for it..

do you have to go to kingston i see they have offices all over JA???

LOL @ Dada's crush on Ma$e! He was cute and all....I just couldn't get past the lisp! (sorry if anyone here has a lisp--or loves someone w/ a lisp!)

well you really have no choice but to get it no matter how much it costs

but 5 thousand?! really? that's how much it costs to spend a couple hrs searching through records?

i highly doubt they going on an excursion across the island to ask everyone if your fiance is married

its exorbitant, its ridiculous

when we got married in ny, the miserable old dry head lady did a search on the computer and BAM that was it, 3 seconds, part of the filing fee which was like 20 dollars i believe
