Yeah, where is Tre?

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Mrs P. - you make some very valid points. i agree that it is a true shame that anyone would not love themselves for who they are and what they look like. all children are beautiful and special....i agree with you 100%

however, interracial children do come with their own set of challenges.....they question their own identity. who am i? am i white? am i black? i don't look like either one....where do i fit in? It is up to us as parents to make our children feel special and important no matter what their makeup is...

i don't believe that interracial children are 'better' or 'more beautiful' than those of their one race counterparts (that would go for someone who is all black or all white or all whatever) but I do think that interracial children are more interesting and unique..

what i find interesting is that for centuries and centuries breeding outside of one's race has been so taboo and so wrong and so looked down upon and to some people downright disgusting(in societys eyes) and when people finally started to do it, the result has been some extremely stunning and talented human beings...

Finesse, I agree that we of mixed race do have our own set of challenges. Although I never had the identity issues, I did and still do have the dreaded  battle of what to do with my hair... Although the hair industry is much better than when I was growing up I went through many a bad hair day, week, month.... because white beauticians didn't know how to do my hair and neither did black beauticians.

I disagree with the statement that interracial children are MORE interesting and unique. I have seen mixes that I don't feel are cute and actually a bit odd...just as I have seen back or white children that just weren't cute. I know that is an opinion but I hate the blanket statement that one is MORE than the other...

What you are saying is very interesting to hear Mrs P, because you are the 2nd person I have heard this from in the last couple days. I was having a conversation with a black man who said almost the same thing as your first sentence. He also feels that anytime a black man wears a do-rag he is perceived as a thug, however a white man wearing a bandanna is not.

U know what I agree with that its like when a white man wears a bandanna it looks like he is going to work but a black man in one you be like ok what is he up too?

mi tink dem both look a mess LOL..

WAH GWAAN EVERYBODY!!

mi wi tek a backseat pon dis yere topic :)

RAHTID! Yuh no backseat rida! Wha yuh wan sey? Hey! :P

kimmy = fraidy cat

Nope....Kimmy is smart. I'm with you there. Been on here way too long to know how it's all played out in the past. Not feeling it today.

it was a healthy conversation between intelligent people...no ignorance or malice on anyones part....don't know how anyone could be offended by that....and if anyone was, i would hope they would speak up

ok...its healthy until someone with their OPINION says something crazy :)

LOL Chiney yuh see it

philly, that's frustrating. I've been given the run-around quite a few times between the post office & my apt complex leasing office. I never did get this mp3 player I ordered. But as it was $15, I gave up. Someone else had his phone shipped to me before (bad idea!) and never got it.

Girl it really works my nerve they never seem to be able to get it right!?!? No matter what the cost of the item its still is a loss and the lack of concern a the postal service is a real eye opener!

Yall been chatting up, go to a meeting and have to catch up LOL
