Lol, not yet Finesse lol. Im at work, I have class tonight. I have to present a learning center to my class, that I will present to the Kindergarteners! I wish.. At least I don't have to have anymore sexy parties with myself :rofl::rofl:

Your last line just reminded me of a funny story from being out shopping on Sun - We ended up at the adult toy store - my friend burnt the motor on her BOB :rofl: so she needed a new one - While we were there, my cousin decided she wanted one, but asked if I could loan her money till Fri - So she handed her toy to me, and said I'll give it to you now so that no one thinks anything funny about you buying it for me - We all went to the register, the girl rang it up - and asked if I needed batteries - My cousin yells out - Nope, I got them at home! I was rolling - so much for the discrete purchase!

There were 2 in MoBay I liked. But, yeah, neither the same as here.

Yeah I think one is in the cut right before you get downtown. I think you could eat outside if you wanted to they had a few chairs. The man sold sodas out front. The food was just o.k.

Yep. The other was near Holiday Inn Sunspree in MoBay.

Nope, the one I am talking about is right on the hip strip - it's a fancier place, up on the hill a bit - Really good food.

I understand that JG but the problem is wider than that & that's my real problem. I don't like the way locals in the service industry tend to treat other locals. If I go to a place by myself, of course I get the royal treatment but as soon as I bring my fiance (now hubby), we are treated shoddy. And it's not because of how we are treating them. I always treat service people very kindly & I tip well. But I see a big difference in treatment when it comes to locals patroning a place. (Maybe not in every case but I've seen it enough where it's not just my imagination.) It's not bad for places to get some raves but sometimes it's just over the top & it's from a very slanted point-of-view. I'm not one to try & rain on anyone's parade so I don't comment but I'd LOVE to tell people about the kind of treatment we get. Of course, they wouldn't believe it because they get the 'tourist' treatment. There are only a handful of places we've been to where the staff have been friendly & the places that haven't been, never see my business again & if anyone cares to ask, I'll tell them why. I could write an essay on why this bugs me (as you can see I'm starting to) but it really boils down to the difference in treatment of locals vs. the almighty white tourist. It's wrong, plain & simple.

I'm not sure what you meant about 'she wanting to run off & marry' so I can't respond to that....I keep reading it & reading what I wrote but it's not making sense....care to explain?

look at mi ticker!! mi pick di medium color babies cuz mi nuh knoa ow dem a come out...

well finesse you could have one very fair complected child and one with the perfect tan :) ......everyone says to me....for being twins, do you know you have 2 different colored children cara??? OMG are you serious???? i didnt have a clue!!!!!!!!!!

that's what hubby said...what if one come out white and the other come out black?.....that would be crazy!!

It can happen but it's rare! My friend just sent me this link! (Ignore the ignorant comments in the post.)

http://stupidcelebrities.net/2008/07/25/ra...hite-one-black/

I apologize if its making you feel some type of way. My children aren't mixed and I still think they are beautiful too. I just think mixed children's skin tones, eye color and hair just comes across to me in a guinuinely beautiful way. It strikes something inside of me. I don't mean anything offensive about it.

Hey MsTee...no worries...I just think that one of the problems that continue to plague the African-American/and Afro-Caribbean (is that right) is that this "exotic" and "genuinely beautiful" looked of mixed race people is something to aspire to. Whether you mean to or not in your actions, thoughts, beliefs, this will perpetuate itself in one way or another. Why do you think bleaching is running so rampant in JA? And not just JA, but all over the world. Unfortunately Africans and those from African descent continue to struggle with acceptance of their own skintone, features, etc because they know that for a majority of people it is not "as beautiful". Beautiful--yes. But still not "as beautiful". That's like saying a woman is smart, but not "as smart" as a man. Or a larger woman may be beautiful, but not "as beautiful" as a smaller woman simply because of size. If there is a way that we can make all of our children feel as though they are the most beautiful beings, then we need to make that our mission in life EACH AND EVERY DAY! If we do so, if we uplift ALL of our children, make them ALL feel special, then will there be no need for constant desire to change themselves. Trying to be something that they are not--regardless of the mental and physical implications that may be endured during their pursuit. Looking for others to validate them instead of finding that validation and acceptance within themselves and from those that love them. It would probably prevent 1/2 of the ####### that's going on with our young people today.

I completely understand both points here. I also think mixed children are beautiful but I equally have seen plenty of African/American/Caribbean babies that I think are stunning. Countless times I've fallen instantly in love with big brown eyes; smooth, pretty brown skin of all shades & those bright, white smiles! And I agree that all types of beauty should be promoted, not just the 'Euro standard' of it.

I was just saying you can't change people's perceptions when they are experiencing something different. I wouldn't worry about it too much. That sort of thing has been going on for a long time. I experienced the same thing and have heard stories about it as well.

My kids made me mad yesterday. One of them was in my room and the batteries in my remote were dead.. I had to go retrieve some from my "gadget"...

:ot2: Anyway, its time for me to go to class now so again thanks to all of you! Seriously, I didn't know if we were going to be approved and not trying to sound vain but I just woke up feeling so extra good today, no doubts or worries. Everytime something major has happened on this journey, NO2, approval.. its been on a significant day. The NO2A came the night he proposed and the approval came on my cousin and best friend's son's birthdays so I felt really good! Oh well.. Off to class.. Likkle more!
