It feels good but when my step daughter gets here it will be different. Just Joking

So we heard from the California Service Center on Sept 21, 2009 for my step daughter. They said her I130 was approved after 4 months so now they will forward to NVC/

Question

How does it work for the kids when they are there and come here to be transferred to school. I want her to start on time and she is in a school until next July and she will start regular school there in Jamaica. But then will she have to start Kindergarten here at 6 or will she be able to go to 1st grade because her b-day is Sept

Any thoughts

Talk to Dillon. She's the last one on here to register a child from JA in a US school.

I was thinking about getting a yorkie. Ray claims not to like dogs living in thehouse, but when he went to my sisters and wanted me to take him pick with her BIG dog. He told me that he would going to feed the dog beer. LOL I bet if I get it he'll be so attached to it.

I love Yorkies! My friend has one - she's such a spoiled princess, but so so sweet - she just cuddles into you when you pick her up, and she wants to be held all the time!

I don't know that I would get a dog again for a while - it's ALOT of work and when you travel / work like I do, it's hard with a dog - cats are much easier. DJ always said he hated cats and we would only get a dog - now the man has a cat that sleeps in his bed

LOL!! You know, I've met a lot of people that say that they hate dogs or cats and then I find out they eventually get a pet and Love it to death!! Animals have that effect on us!! It's easy to spoil our pets.. they're almost like kids.. except for mine, He is a Kid! 24/7 !!!

Can we move on past the drama that took place in here. PLEASE! I go back and read a lot when I miss stuff and that's ok, but can we please leave then drama in the past. People don't want to keep be reminded of what happened. That was yesterday, let's DO TODAY.... This forum is going to good right now. Just my thought for the day.... Don't hate me for speaking out.

I snatched that pic, i just loved it so much!! Isn't he adorable?? I do have a dog though- a 7 lb. miniature pinscher named Nico who is a terror but my best friend Lol! I feel bad that I didn't post Nico's pic but i couldn't resist that little cutie!! I love animals! Got any Sus?

unfortunately, no pets right now I have always had them - But after my last dog and cat passed, I haven't gotten a new one yet - I have a Jamaican kitty who is spoiled rotten and lazy, but none in my house here

awwe Sus I am sorry to hear about your animals I know how hard it is. I recently lost my dog last month of 14 years I was so devastated this is the 1st time I was able to speak about it openly. It is so hard..... You have a Yard Kitty aweee I love that any pics?

There are some newly rescued from the jaws of Death newborn kitties over at Mrs Bootsy's and I want another one so bad but Hubby put his foot down after the war pus incident

Hey Nat and everyone else! Our adjustment is going well. He's doing really good. It doesn't seem like he is going through an adjustment period. I keep waiting though. I agree Nat about the calls. The best card I can find here is $20 for about an hour. He's been good though about using it sparingly. I wish he could call back home more often, but it just is too expensive. I'm still hoping Metro PSC will add JA to their international plan. Going back to his adjustment I was worried about what I loving refer to as my zoo (2 dogs and 2 cats). He's done real good with them and even is taking one of the dogs on walks. On my adjustment side I'm getting used to having a whole fish in the freezer. I'm a vegeterian and used to not having any meat in the house so then to have a whole fish and see him clean and cook it has been quite an experience. I love him so much though and am enjoying seeing how Jamaicans cook. Boy can they can. Most nights his food smells so good I'm temepted to try a bite. He's driven 3 times already including on the highway and has done rrally good. He only went ont he left side once, the first time. Now I'm just trying to decide when I need to get him a FL license. Well I think that is about all for our adjustment update.

well roger didn't really have adjustment either, its like he's been here for years...has mr thompson traveled b4?? sometimes their personatilites or lifestyles back in JA just make them a lil more flexible i guess.. plus both of us had lived w/ others before..

All we had to do was take in his birth certificate, shot record and school records. You need to check with the school she will be going to as to what grade she will be in. She might not make the age cut off to be in 1st grade but if she is she can. Registering him for school wasn't any different then registering a US child into the school. It really was a piece of cake.

No pics - I was lazy with the camera, that trip lol - Will have to take some next trip when we are inna yaad - I want a new cat so badly, but I will hold out for now - it's really hard, cause they are such a part of the family - We had 4 cats - 1 of them a persian, and 3 Lhasa Apsos - My dad used to call them the blonde, the brunette and the redhead -

I'm scared of cats. lol After one jumped on my chest and was clinging to my sweater I have been scared. They are too sneaky. When I go over to my friends house I watch her cat the whole time I'm there if she doesn't put it up.
