in india we have to go to the vfs and pay a fee and show these documents before the interview. will nvc mail us the documents before the interview? becuase i dont have copies of all of this stuff. thanks

Documents required at VFS- kindly arrange documents in the order as listed for each applicant.

1. Passport: photocopy of the biopages of the current passport and a copy of the observation

page or previous U.S visa pages (if any).

2. Photograph*

3. Biographic Data Forms: DS230 Part I and II

4. Birth Certificate: original and photocopy*

5. Marriage Certificate: original and photocopy

6. Divorce Decree for all previous marriages: original and photocopy

7. Death Certificate: original and photocopy

8. Proof of Relationship

9. Police Reports: original

10. Foreign Police Certificates: original

11. Deportation Records

12. Prison Records

13. Military Records

14. Affidavit of Support (I-864 with attachments): original

15. Affidavit of Support (I-864A with attachments, if applicable): original

16. Copy of Affidavit of Support (I-864 / I-864A) (F category only, for each family member)

17. DS-156

18. DS-156K

19. Affidavit of Support (I-134 with attachments): original

20. Job Offer letter from Employer in the United States: original

21. Medical Report*

* Required for all applicants.

visa approved! 11/17/2009.. pheww!!

received passport-11/20/2009

entered in US- 12/14/2009

POE- New york

welcome received- 02/01/2010

green card received- 02/08/2010

removal of condition-12/15/2011

ROC package sent to CSC- 09/21/2011

Are you sure for a CR1 DS156 and DS156k is required, i dont think so its required for a immigrant visa

Are you sure for a CR1 DS156 and DS156k is required, i dont think so its required for a immigrant visa

17 - 20 dont really apply to us, but they do mention to keep all copies for yourself before sending in packet. What are you missing?

09-19-2011 : Early walk-in Biometrics completed (Original date 10/03/2011)

02-07-2012 : Green Card Approved

02-11-2012 : Green Card Received

i just read from another member that this vfs thing is for K1 and k3 not for cr1. so i dont think it applies to me. thank God.

sorry that member was wrong vfs is required for all visas.

Yea, VFS is required for all of us and it is better to have a copy of all documents as they may ask for it at the vfs office.
