Proof of bonafide marriage -- Never asked for this?

Hi guys,

So, I've been reading on here about people bringing wedding photos to their interviews and even wedding invitations etc.

We DCF'd in Vancouver, (my husband is the USC petitioning for me, Canadian) with the I-130 and I have my interview for a CR-1 visa in Montreal next month.

They have never asked us for any "proof of bonafide marriage"...

Should I bring wedding pictures etc with me to the interview even though that's not specified on my checklist of things to bring...?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: whoops...okay, so I just re-looked through our I-130 papers and I showed our purchase agreement for our condo that we own together... But we have never been asked to provide pictures, etc... Is this something we should still bring to the interview..?

Do you think I'll need to also bring any past vacation pictures etc...?

They basically just want to see that you have a real working marriage with your husband. Whatever you feel could prove that, I would bring! Since you live in the same country, you obviously see each other on a regular basis, so I wouldn't focus so much on trips and pictures. Things like a joint bank account, joint insurance information, the purchase agreement from the condo like you mentioned... things of that nature, that a married couple would generally have together. Some wedding pictures and vacation pictures may compliment that, but I don't think they are as essential.

A lot of what you see regarding proof of relationship relates to K1 visa applicants - the proof thing diminishes for a CR1/IR1 when you are living in the same country in the same residence.

They did not ask my Husband for any and we did not send any with the I-130 (wasn't required at that time anyway for the I-130).

Now that is not to say that you shouldn't take any proof with you, by all means take one photo (this is secondary proof and for a CR1/IR1 via DCF) and maybe a couple of joint bills or a joint bank account statement - but it's not a big issue, no need to take a case full of proof.

That was supposed to read for DCF a photo is pretty useless :hehe:

I went by "More ammo the better" all thru the process and it worked for us.
