i know right??? i guess i should have gotten ur number so i could have warned you LOL..

no she didn't stamp anything.. she just said i am approving your i130 and i485.. she had said earlier that it can go thru all kinds of checks.. home visits if needed.. so i don't know if she meant b4 or after the gc is rec????.. i don't really expect to get it very soon from the tone of the interview, but i didn't expect her to say it was approved right then either so i will sit while the Lord works it out!

Wow those interviews sound so scary, must be so maddening to have to explain that your marriage is real, so bizarre how the government can have a say at whom you choose to marry... of course I do understand that immigration fraud is rife which makes things harder for honest couples but I can just see how my husband will lose his temper with the IO if he feels that our marriage is being questioned, lol...

Our marriage ceremony was actually just in the local court house, we want to have a proper ceremony when all the family can attend and my mother has level 4 breast cancer so we didn't feel like throwing a "party" as this news came out around the same time... oh well I guess if the marriage is legit one has nothing to worry about, but things like where one and how one gets married, is such a personal choice and really doesn't say anything about the legitimacy of the marriage, after all it's about the marriage, not the wedding day!

All my sisters had these huge weddings and they expect the same from me, but for me it's never been a big deal, I'd rather spend the money on going on a great trip than feed a 100 people for a day.... it doesn't mean I won't honor the vows I made to my husband and love him with all my heart and wanna be with him forever and ever, we just make wise financial decisions, especially in these economic times and me still in college and him wanting to go back to college and us wanting to buy a new house...

I found this page FULL of interview experiences, and it's very informative, things that seem to jump out all the time are the major/primary evidence of "bona fide marriage" : http://www.trackitt.com/usa-discussion-for...ted-here/page/9

and then I found a great post by another VJ member :

"I had the great opportunity to have dinner with a director of the VSC Saturday evening. A sit turns out his wife is Russian, came here on a K-1 and is now an aquaintance of Alla. So we had some great conversation. Our next step will be the I-751 and he has worked in his career as an IO who conducted AOS and lifting of conditions interviews and gave me lots of good information on evidence. Here are some things he likes to see and others which are "useless" in his words

Good stuff

Joint bank accounts, joint tax returns, joint ownership of property, cars. Joint leases. Joint insurance. Named as beneficiaries on life insurance and medical insurance. Joint credit cards. Any other joining of financial interests (the theory is that if one is willing to risk your property and money the relationship is more likely valid) Government documents showing common address, drivers lisence, etc. Photos are good, kind of expected, but NOT primary evidence.

Useless or not so useful stuff

Magazine subscriptions together (WHAT??? "Yes, you would be surprised how many couples present a Sports Illustrated subscription as proof") Utilities, cards and letters from relatives, emails, chats etc. Theory? all of these can be easily faked and in themselves prove nothing. Utilities do not verify information before adding someone to an account and hey, it's the electric bill, you are going to pay the electric bill anyway. There is no financial risk involved, no commitment as in joint ownership. Affidavits from friends or family do not have a lot of weight. None of these things are BAD and in conjunction with other evidence are fine, but not enough to prove anything themselves.

This is probably not news to a lot of people, but it was good to hear it from the "horse's mouth" anyway.

Incidentally, I mentioned that we never had a question at any of our interviews and never were asked for any evidence and he said "Sometimes we can just tell. Whatever you did, whatever your body language or how you acted, the IO was immediately convinced you were legitimate" I cannot say what that was, unfortunately.

Another question I asked, actually Alla did since she did not change her name

Does it matter if the woman changes her name?: NO, not at all."

But I received letter today . My interview scheduled on January 12 .

alice!!! im so glad that you got some information!!! menaxoxo, im sure you will hear something soon, some cases seem to be taking longer than others.. pls tell me you have at least gotten your ead by now..

tynhi.. don't know if you had your interview already but GOD BLESS... it will be approved, i know it, just keep calm and let your love speak for you.

we didn't have anything but, verification that my husband is on my health insurance and pictures

but we made it..

hubby got his ssn and the "WELCOME TO THE UNITED STATES" letter last week!!!

Update: received letter from USCIS today saying interview on 17th is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.........what a Xmas gift from them....
