Frankfurt Interview on Monday, i-129f forms...

My fiancee's interview is this coming Monday, and she does not want to take her copy of the i-129f/k-1 packet along with her, to much stuff already for the day of travel and the restrictions of what you can and can't bring to the embassy. So I am wondering on others experience's of just bringing what the checklist asks for and nothing more? I would take it (i-129f) just to have it, because you just never know.

Thanks

Scott

They'll only ask you for something from it if you don't take it.

It's better to be disappointed that you took it and didn't need it than be disappointed that you did not take it and needed it.

You're kidding, right? You've come this far and she's willing to risk further delays by potentially not having everything she needs at the interview?

I wish I was kidding. She's worried about having to much stuff since everyone says you can have this that or that. I agree with what you are all saying, and am still working on that. Otherwise I did find I forgot to sign the copy of the i-129f I sent her, and I did not send another "letter of intent". However everything I read about Frankfurt suggests there really interested in the i-134 information.

Thanks

I brought so much with me to the interview that they didnt wanna see but I would have kicked myself in the butt over and over if they would have asked for something that I didnt have on me...I would take a copy, why not?!?

As for the letter of intend, I had one that was signed in February and my interview was in June so the letter was still alright.

At this point, there's no such thing as 'too much stuff'. Shame that she doesn't understand that.

We had TONS of evidence and paperwork, including the I-129F forms. Nobody said anything about the amount of stuff we brought, it just has to fit through the screening machine...

In our case, they were mostly interested in the financial documents (tax returns, bank statements and copies of recent paychecks of my fiance).

Our letter of intent was almost one year old when we had our interview, and it didn't matter.

As long as she can carry it, I don't think there is such a thing as "too much stuff"! It was a pain to drag it all from window to window, though... :P

Good luck for your interview, they are pretty nice in Frankfurt!

Hey there,

My husbands interview was at the end of May and he had no problems at all. He didn't take a letter of intent and was never asked for it. On the other hand he did bring a huge pile of evidence. He was never asked for any of it. His interview was so simple and quick at Frankfurt. My advice is to tell your fiance to bring everything just to be safe but I doubt that she will be asked for any of it. As long as the two of you don't have a complicated past everything is gonna go by smoothly!! Good Luck!!! :D

Well I think I've convinced her to take that information. She does seem to think based on the german boards she reads that if they want more information, she can mail it. I'm also going to email a signed letter of intent that she can print out just in case.

What about paystubs? Her instructions did not mention them, so I did not send them. I've got, a printed copy of my tax return since I use an online service, a letter from my bank (that was a pain) some copies of statements for a retirement account, and a letter from my employer. So certainly 2 things are perfect the others are sketchy, but notorized. So I could also scan and email the paystubs too.

Thanks for all the help, she was working on a final up until this last week and just did not have time to deal with it all, and really we are not that worried about it.
