Hi all,

I have a question regarding the police certificate obtained from the district police office. Is it necessary for the PCC obtained from the local police station to have the photo of the beneficiary attached or will one without a photo, but containing all the other necessary information regarding the beneficiary suffice?

Also, has anyone has submitted a PCC from the local police station in India without having a picture attached to the PCC?

Thanks!

It depends on the Local/District Police office on how they issue the certificate, either with or without the photo of the beneficiary.

To clear your doubts, you can always call NVC or your embasy.

My wife didn't have to get Local PCC because her passport is less than 6 months old. But she got her Passport/Regional PCC without her photo attached. Our file is complete. I don't think it causes any problems. that's my opinion.

But, I would suggest you make some phone calls just to be on the safe side. That's what I would do.

Good luck!

My local PCC has a picture attached. But not the one from the passport office.

Hi Folks,

I have a question. Do we need to get PCC from RPO (the office which issued the passport) or where person living currently.

My wife's passport was issued from Patna (Bihar) but currently she is living in Delhi. I am using Delhi as her current address for USCIS communications.

Thanks

You would need to get a PCC from the RPO that has jurisdiction over her current residence and a local PCC if necessary

Thanks, but in the following link people are saying that a passport PCC need from the office where passport was issued and a police PCC from current address of the applicant.

I am confused now. Could someone please clarify which are required PCC.

Thanks in advance.

Best thing to do is to call NVC and ask them if they require the PCC from the local RPO or the passport issuing RPO. Good luck!

I have a question for you Inzango....

When you say you didnt have to get a Local PCC for your wife coz her passport was less than 6 months old, was it less 6 months old at the time the NVC received the DS-230,or do they look at it when you first applied at the USCIS?

My wife's passport was less than 6 months old up until the day before they opened her DS-230 at the NVC.

So I guess I am trying to figure out if she will need the Local PCC and if I'm gonna get an RFE for it.

Thanks for the help...

I was confused too and we got the PASSPORT PCC from the place where my wife was RESIDING and not from the place where the passport got issued a couple of years back. So basically we had to file a "Change of Address" with the passport office(PO which has jurisdiction over area where she is currently residing) and after they changed the address(with an Endorsement on the current passport), we applied for passport PCC. So basically in your case you should get it from Delhi. In our case the Passport Office said that the police had to come and verify where you live, so you had to make sure thats where you are currently residing and not the ols/past address that is in your passport when it was originally issued.

9/1/2009: Applied for I-130

9/14/2009: NOA1 for I-130

9/21/2009: NOA1 for I-129F (CSC)

9/25/2009: NOA1 received for I-129F (receipt of mail)

01/08/2010 : Thank you very much Jesus..... NOA 2 129F

01/08/2010 : NOA 2 I-130

01/15/2010 : Embassy gets the approval notice (Awesome..Love K3...so glad we have done K3)

01/20/2010: Embassy schedules interview for K3

02/19/2010: K3 interview over and approved.

[Thank You very much Jesus and our heavenly father.]
