Has anyone had any issues with getting an interview date at the embassy in London?

We sent in the tick sheet back in June, called in August and they said they had not received it, so we sent it in again and now today they STILL have not received it.

We are getting a bit antsy seeing other individuals on the board who already have interview dates who have begun this process after us and it is a bit discouraging.

Can anyone offer any advice or experiences?

Thanks!

Moved from K-1 to Embassy (better suited)

There was a tick sheet stating you had the documents you needed and we are applying for the K1

OK, You were also supposed to send in about 5 or six other forms which comprise the application for the visa.

DS-230-I Part I

DS-156 x2 (Fill out online to generate barcode http://www.usembassy.org.uk/cons_new/visa/...electronic.html - Do not sign)

DS-156K x2(Do not sign)

DS-157 x2

Also, did you fill in the dates of travel and wedding? If you leave them blank or put something out very far, then it may take some time. London has been slow lately, but not THAT slow! If you have done everything before, try doing it again. Double check your case number, and send in the complete packet (forms + checklist) one more time. Be sure that you do recorded delivery to get a signature and confirmation of when it was delivered.

Thanks, I'm almost positive it was all sent in. and we did do delivery confirmation. So it's very weird! Just worrysome. I didn't know if anyone else was experiencing something of the sort as well.

Sounds very frustrating, but if they have not confirmed that they have your packet and it has been 6-8 weeks, you should send in a fresh packet. This is advice that was given to another member by the embassy help line. If you are still having trouble after taking that step, it is time to get your congress people involved on your behalf. Many people are reporting better turn around out of London now that the summer is (officially) over.

We have some time before the planned wedding, it's just frustrating as we've sent it twice!

How could they have 'not' received it?

I wonder what the time for processing is....because if they haven't gotten the first one for whatever reason, they should have most definitely received the second!

But since the 2nd was only sent on August 24, maybe they just haven't opened it yet?

It's possible. According to the VJ data, the average time from the embassy receiving the packet (not packet 3, but the file from USCIS) is 63 days. Which means the average person has only a few weeks to wait before their interview date is assigned.

I guess my advice would be to hang in there a little longer, but then to go get your congressman/senator involved as/before you send in the packet for the THIRD time. Sorry you are having such difficulties!
