Pending I-485 finally 'touched'!

We mad my AOS Interview on 05/11/06 and it was 'sort-of approved', but pending the famous FBI name check. Since then I have written to my Senator, the First Lady and called USCIS, with no results. But on 07/11/06 I noticed that my I-485 was 'touched' and I wonder what this could mean? Prior to that, it had not been touched since 04/06/06. The actual status of my case has not changed yet, I have not received an email or anything in the mail. What a tease....this is driving me CRAZY!!!!

Try calling 800 no and ask the operator to transfer you to the actual officer. They'll be able to tell you abt this LUD, as they have access to your online case files.

Wes case status has not changed either since the touch of June 22. I don't make too much of that......the verbage of the case status oftentimes never changes. I would get excited if I saw the case 'disappear' from the profile. That USUALLY means the card is forthcoming.

We've been waiting two months longer than you have and we still have not contacted a senator or written to the First Lady. I do understand your aggravation and irritation but I'm afraid your pleas may fall on deaf ears this early on. What is the processing date for Buffalo? Are you thirty days outside of that yet?

Until you are, plus 120 days have passed since your interview, I don't think anybody is going to be moved to look into your case.

I know that sux, but that's just pretty much the way it works.

I know that there are many people who have waited longer than I have and I do have deep sympathy for them. But I also know that many who have been waiting a long time have not contacted anyone or done anything and are stuck waiting for something to happen. Everyone has a right to deal with their case the way that they want to and I totally respect that, but I refuse to just sit and wait. The processing date for Buffalo is about 10 days short of being over the 30 days for me and is about to change soon, so I am just being proactive. I choose to at least keep my case familiar to those who matter, even if nothing else comes from it. I also know that it can take a while for those such as the Senator and the First Lady to actually get back to me and by the time that they do, it will likely be just in time. I haven't seen most of my large family in about 2 years, I've missed a few very special family events and I have a few close relatives who are deathly ill, so I am trying to do what I can. It helps me to feel like I am at least a little bit in control. All the best to you and Wes, and everyone else who is at the mercy of USCIS.

It helps me to feel like I am at least a little bit in control.

Yeah, I understand..believe me I do.

I guess I am hesitant to stir the pot too early on for fear that should I really need help later on, it will be ignored because of any 'premature' pot-clattering.

Do you have your AP so that you can travel? It's been 10 months since Wes arrived and I'm starting to feel a bit guilty that we have no travel plans for him to go back 'home', even though he's not complaining.

I didn't apply for AP because I 'overstayed' my visitor status before we applied for my AOS and it was highly suggested to us for this reason not to apply. I guess we could run into some problems at the border on our way back into the U.S., so I'd rather not take any chances. I wouldn't be as frustrated or worried if I had my AP or EAD.

Hi Guys:

I have my interview on 6/29/06 but pending FBI name check . I check my online status today (7/16), and my I485 was touched on 7/13, and I765 (approved April) was touched today (Sunday?).

Why they touch my I765 after approved in April?

Anybody has similar situation can share?

I checked my online status again this morning (as I do multiple times a day...lol) and this time both my I-485 and I-130 (which was already approved) were touched yesterday on 07/16/06. One touch could be random, but 2 touches back to back sounds very positive to me!!!!
