Glad your medical went well. I am going to be ringing the Panel doctors in brissie tomorrow to see how much they are and any other info I need...Haven't gotten my NOA2 yet but am trying to line all my ducks up in a row so when I comes, I am out of the gate like a shot! Donna, the doctor just asked if you had chicken pox as a child...I had it when I was four, you reckon I need to prove that somehow?

I hope you get your interview soon, I know what it's like to miss key dates and it sucks more than iSnack 2.0. I'm thinking of you!

Hey astrid ...

I don't have NOA2 yet either but the medical in Bris is $470. That includes the Xray but not the vaccinations. If it helps, there isn't a long wait to book an appointment in Brisbane. When I rang she basically said whatever date I wanted, I could book. No waiting time.

I had blood tests done for the vaccinations because they told me they would accept those as proof and I did not need to have it done with them, I could bring the results from my own GP. Glad I did it though, it took 2 weeks for one of the results. Hope this helps!

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

18/09/09 - CR1 NOA1

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

27/09/10 - Aussie/American bun in the oven due May 10, 2011

06/01/11 - Submitted change of address online to USCIS. Mailed I-865 for sponsor. Neverending!

05/05/11 - Bouncing baby boy arrives

10/07/12 - Sent I-751

13/07/12 - I-751 NOA1

hey there!

sorry i only just saw your question on the chicken pox.

no you dont have to prove it... its more for your own benefit to get it, and i didnt "need" to have it, but doctor said it'd be a good idea considering i havent had the pox yet.

funnily enough my adult next door neighbour got chicken pox last week! luckily i have had the vaccine koz i was around at his house the day before he was diagnosed!

lol!

As of July 2008 the fees were:

Medical examination $253.00

Chest X-ray $99.00

Blood test $91.35

TOTAL $443.35

They have probably risen since...

I told the doc I had chicken pox when I was 3 and that was all the proof he needed

I suppose chicken pox isn't that great of a deal. I mean, people are willing to admit to having the Pox rather than HIV/AIDS I guess.

Ummm, donna, so if you're 24, that means you were born in 1985... But from what I can tell, the Doctor thinks you're 32 and other members seem to think you're 20. Are you sure you're 48? If not, then how old are you?

On the flip side, if you're 28, and you take away 4 years, then another 4 years, then add on 15, multiply it by 8 and divide it by 10... How old are you?

And if, hypothetically, your birth certificate had been lost in the mail at time of birth, and your parents filed for another one, but put the wrong year on the form, but for your whole life they said 1981, and then, the prime minister granted you your '100th birthday certificate' in 2080. How old are you now?

Never mind the questions... I know it's the 7th anniversary of your 21st b'day :P

Anyway, I was looking at fees in Sydney and apparently it's only $130 for the doc. fee.... Fingers crossed i save the $110 =o)

Edit: Or, a saving of $123

It might be a good idea to see if they will let you do it lying down. It will allow you to relax and avoid fainting
