Got a Montreal interview!

Hey everyone!! I haven't been here for a while but I wanted to update everyone on the interview status because you've all been so helpful! This morning I just randomly called the NVC to see whether my case had been completed and they actually had an interview date for us on August 24th! :o I was expecting it to take months from the stuff I'd seen here! So crizzazy!

Anyhow, I'm still paranoid that it's all a mistake and I'm going to get a letter saying something totally different but for now I'm going to let myself have a couple of hours of cheer. Thanks again for all of your help! :dance:

Nov 29 2005 I-130 received at VSC

Mar 13 2006 I-130 approved at CSC

April 24 2006 $380 mailed to NVC

May 5 2006 I-186 mailed to NVC

May 18 2006 I-186 received by NVC

I have my interview date, too. Mine is August 11. My husband learned about the interview last Friday from the consulate but we just wanted to make sure it was for real so we waited for a few days to confirm things. Anyway, yesterday, I called NVC and they gave me the same info. So, I guess it is for real!

There's several of us who got interviews at the consulate in Montreal. I will post later at the Canada forum.

Thanks all! I wanted to let everyone know that it was a really quick turnaround - something's got to have happened there because the last time I was here (a few weeks ago maybe?) people were still saying 3 months! So this is huge!

I think there is a place where I should be updating my status so other people can see it...off to check it out now.

Good luck and God speed. I had my Montreal Interview April 5 (go to USCIS reviews to check mine). It was painless, the hardest part is waiting and expecting the worse. I gave it a 5 out of a 5. I called Montreal to check out my status about 5 weeks prior to and I was surprised too that it was so fast. And here we are now all married and happier than all get out!!! Tough adjustment but worth it (read my threads about homesickness and Advance Parole)

June 25, 2004 - Bruce & I met through mutual friends in my hometown in Newfoundland the night before he was going back to Maine

July 1 - First email between us

July 3 - I called him to wish him a Happy Independance Day

Daily phone calls and emails from there on in

October 20 - Bruce drove back to Newfoundland. He planned on staying a week but it ended up being 3 weeks. We knew for a fact we were in love!

March 19/05 - Bruce back in Newfoundland

April 8 - Bruce picked me up in North Sydney, NS and we drove to Maine. I stayed for a week due to work

July 26 - Bruce back to Newfoundland for another 3 weeks. I can't bear to see him leave.

August 10 - He asked me to marry him.........I had already asked him anyway just to make sure*_*

September 30 - I flew to Boston to meet Bruce there and then we drove back to Maine for 2 weeks

November 18 - We filed I-129F

December 1 - NOA Receipt #

December 28 - Received Packet 3

January 6/06 - Received my Police Certificate of Conduct

January 11 - Sent DS-230 Part 1 back to Montreal Consulate

February 3 - Sent off my check list to Montreal Consulate

March 24 - Medical

April 5 - Interview Date.....APPROVED......Yahoo

April 17 - Moving to Maine

May 16 - Bruce & I became Mr. & Mrs. in Las Vegas (Oh HAPPY DAY)
