Hola a todos, hemos estado viendo con mi novio todo el proceso de la visa y quisiera saber si sale mas rapido que el venga a casarse conmigo aqui en Colombia... es el mismo proceso? tenemos q esperar el mismo tiempo o realmente es mas rapido?

La única ventaja que tiene la visa K1 es que si ya se han visto en persona, en cualquier momento pueden mandar la solicitud para la visa. Las otras visas K3 y CR1 requieren que estén casados antes de aplicar lo cual demora un poco el proceso mientras se casan.

Ahora, el USCIS y el NVC procesan las visas casi igual en cuestión de tiempo, la CR1 se demora tal vez 1 mes más. PERO, con las visas K1 y K3 tienen que Ajustar Estado lo cual requiere $1.010 dólares adicionales. El permiso de trabajo se demora entre 3-6 meses en llegarle y la tarjeta de residencia entre 6-12 meses. Con la visa CR1 la persona recibe la tarjeta de residencia a las 2-4 semanas de haber entrado al país sin necesitad de aplicar por Ajuste de Estado.

U.S. Citizenship

03/30/11 - N-400 sent via Priority Mail w/ delivery confirmation

05/12/11 - Biometrics

07/20/11 - Interview - passed

07/20/11 - Oath ceremony - same day as interview
