How do I change my address with USCIS now?

I won't pretend to speak for all of the Canadians...but..

The foreign spouse is required to file an AR-11 within 10 days of moving and the USC Spouse/Sponsor is required to submit an I-865 within 30 days of moving (so yes, you need to). The AR-11 can be filed online at USCIS.gov but the I-865 must be completed, printed out and mailed in.

Hi Liz-n-Ol,

Lol..I'm not Canada...But I'm a Canadian...does that count?

Seriously though, yes, as others have mentioned, you and your spouse/sponsor need to update your address with the USCIS.

For you, as the immigrant, need to fill out the AR-11 Alien Change of Address form (within 10 days), to Kentucky

For your spouse, as the USC and sponsor, need to fill out the I-865 Sponsor Change of Address form (within 30 days), to Vermont

You can find both of these forms on the USCIS website to print out and download.

I just did such recently in August (as I moved then), both by USPS snail-mail.

My husband got a reciept in the mail for the I-865, a few days later...

I'm still waiting for my AR-11 reciept (but I doubt I'll get one...unfair, indeed!)...

I also mentioned again about the address change on my recent N-400 application (and also sent proof of such).

I also recommend you tell them about your address change again when you file for your I-751 soon, just in case.

Congats on your new home and hope you enjoy it there.

Hope this helps. Good luck with the rest of your immigration journey too.

I know I've been away for so long!!!!!

Just as a note, I was really worried I had not done this properly. I never filled out the AR-11 and I had to remove conditions.

Basically I called and they said it's really no big deal, that they go off the address you give in your application most of the time anyw ays. But I did an AR-11 and an 865, printed them out, and attached them to my application just in case, as well as submitted them.

"...My hair's mostly wind,

My eyes filled with grit

My skin's white then brown

My lips chapped and split

I've lain on the prairie and heard grasses sigh

I've stared at the vast open bowl of the sky

I've seen all the castles and faces in clouds

My home is the prairie and for that I am proud…

If You're not from the Prairie, you can't know my soul

You don't know our blizzards; you've not fought our cold

You can't know my mind, nor ever my heart

Unless deep within you there's somehow a part…

A part of these things that I've said that I know,

The wind, sky and earth, the storms and the snow.

Best say that you have - and then we'll be one,

For we will have shared that same blazing sun." - David Bouchard
