Does anyone here know how long you should be working at a company before you would feel safe about filing the Affidavit of support form ? Or is there a length of time you need tobe at the company before you can file it. I just recieved the noa-2 not long ago . and will start a new job soon . I know i need 3 pay check stubs for proof to the embassy. That i can afford my new bride. The job i have is a low paying job but it will be over the poverty guidelines. Can I get some feedback from my fellow visa journey members. Thank you john and kirsteen

I don't know of any requirements of being at a job for a certain duration. Since your income is above the poverty line, you should be okay.

If possible, also send in copies of your W-2s and IRS Tax transcripts along with copies of your paystubs, and take the originals with you to the interview.

You can get a letter of employment from the new employer, which states the annual income, on their company letterhead, and supply that with the I-134.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Improved USCIS Form G-325A (Biographic Information)

Form field input font changed to allow entry of dates in the specified format and to provide more space for addresses and employment history. This is the 6/12/09 version of the form; the current version is 8/8/11, but previous versions are accepted per the USCIS forms page.

No this is not my first job. Ive been working stedy all my life and have been making a fair to above pay all my life . I just dont know how the interviewer will look at it being that i just started the job. Last years income was in the 50,000 dollar range.

Then this new position isn't really a huge deal - you've got a earnings history which will show up in your income tax records and you'll show as many pay-stubs as you can for the affidavit of support. I wouldn't give it too much concern.

(Gather as many pay-stubs as you can before you have to finally send your fiance the affidavit of support - if you can get one, also send a letter of employment but don't worry if you can not get one, not every employer will.

If you're still concerned - it might not be a bad idea to include several pay-stubs from your most recent employer too - they won't use them to calculate your income for this year but they might be useful to show you've been employed elsewhere in 2009; just make a notation on them that they are from your most recent employer, not your current one.)

My hubby has just started 3 months in another company when we had our interview, he brought his 3 year income tax return, a letter of employment stating his annual income both from his old and new job and pay stubs, just to make sure.

The embassy will mainly be concerned at whether you make enough to support your fiancée, that's all. This is all based primarily on last year's tax return, if you have the ones for the past few years, even better. Then they look at your pay stubs to see if you make enough and then they look at the employment letter. These last two pieces of evidence are optional, so keep that in mind.

When we were going through my husband's process I had only worked at my new job for a month when I asked for letter of employment and there were no issues with it. Again, because the embassy is only interested in your annual salary.
