Hi Everyone,

I sent in my N-400 application on 9/9/09 and it has been a week+ later and they still haven't cashed my check/cheque yet!

So, I was wondering: How long does it take for them to cash in the check/cheque for the N-400? And how long does it take for them to issue a NOA for the N-400 after they received my check/cheque?

It took 2-3 days for my I-751 check/cheque to be cashed (for the AOS I sent in a money order, so I don't know there), and about 1-2 weeks after I sent in my application got my NOA already for both my I-751 and AOS. So shouldn't it be the same timeline for the N-400 too?

Lol...Grant it, I don't want them to take my money (sigh...I hate to see much-needed money wasted on the USCIS like that)...

But they have to do such for my N-400 application to proceed further, right?

My paperwork arrived on 9/11/09 to the Texas Lockbox that I sent it to (based on what I tracked from USPS), so that's not the problem.

I have sufficient funds in our joint bank account, so that's not the problem either.

I check my online bank account status constantly (in fact I'm checking in now), and yet...still the $675 sits there....

So what's the delay? Don't they want the money? If not...I might as well take it back..lol...I have bills to pay and I hate having money sit in the bank when it could be used for other better and more important purposes. I can't keep this money in my account forever..."Take it or I'll take it out!", I like to say.

Did anyone else have such a delay too? How long did it take for your N-400 check/cheque or any other check/cheque to the USCIS to be cashed in? How long did it take for you to get your NOA after they cashed your check/cheque in?

Should I inquire about this if there are more delays about the check/cheque and/or NOA?

Did they lose check/cheque for the N-400 (Note: I included the check/cheque, wrote in that cover letter that I included it in my application, and placed it neatly stapled on page 3 on the bottom corner of my cover letter...it shouldn't be too hard to miss amongst 100+ pages of paperwork that I sent in, right?).

Lol...maybe they did get overwhelmed with my file and just "threw it in the bin/rubbish/trash/garbage", check/cheque and all!....

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, humour, jokes, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you all know that I checked on the N-400 check/cheque online today (9/18/09) and....

They cashed it in!!! (on 9/15/09, JP Morgan Chase, in Lewisville Texas, from what I could read from the images on the check/cheque)...

Lol..guess my bank was a bit slow regarding the updates...oh well..

Sigh..there goes our money to the USCIS..I feel depressed.... :crying:

Now I wait for the NOA..and get some much needed exercise (as our new mailbox is a mile away, literally)...what a long walk to check the mail....

Maybe that walk will cheer me up (or at least help me lose the baby weight..lol..).:).

Check...I've checked on the check/cheque......I'm all "checked out" and broke....

Will keep you all updated on VJ as to what happens next...

Ant

P.S. Is there some sort of EAC reciept tracking number that I can check my N-400 application with that is on the check/cheque? Or would I have to wait for my NOA and/or biometrics letter to track such?
