My Fiance had his medical at SLMEC on Tuesday and they said his chest X Ray is not clear and they require him to come back for the sputum 3 day test. I believe there is something not right about this procedure. He had a chest X ray done 4 weeks ago for a physical with his doctor and everything was negative. His doctor does not believe what SLMEC is telling him is correct. I believe this 8 week delay they are about to send us through is for nothing. Has anyone else questioned SLMEC results?

i know some people who had clear xrays in other hospitals but was found to have " suspicious findings" at st lukes. i asked st lukes nurses and doctors about this and they told me they have hi tech equipment compared to other hospitals. bottomline, no matter how much we doubt them or question them, there is nothing we can do except comply with what they tell us to do.

Ask them why over 25 million Illegal Aliens live in the USA, and they never had to do a Medical test, or background Check, or even get a visa.

They just had to sneak across the border undercover.........

I went through with that also. I so wanna question their credibility but I couldn't do that time 'coz I am still dealing with my fractured foot when I had my medical at SLEC. Anyway, I went into physical exam in St. Lukes Medical Center, and I am all clear and healthy. But they won't accept results from St. Lukes Medical Center.

I don't think they had more hi-tech equipment than St. Lukes Medical Center because compare to their facilities, they are far from St. Luke's Medical Center.

To add with your burden, when your fiance come here in US, he will still undergo TB test. They don't trust the SLEC, and they will have their own test.

I hope the US embassy will have at least 2 designated clinic for medical exam, in order to validate the findings.

What are you talking about?

When did they start requiring another TB in USA.

My Fiance arrived in August last year. She never had to do another TB test.

I think you are giving inccorect information................

they will do another TB test in the USA if you underwent sputum tests or medications in the phils. since your fiance passed her medical without undergoing sputum, then she is not required to do another TB test in america.

This is CORRECT information. For those who had medical problems in SLEC once they get here they will need to undergo to another TB test. both skin and Culture test.

Hi... I only had TST, it is negative, so they didn't ask me to have chest x-ray.

I believe that this Sputum Test is way too unnecessary to any suspected deformity from someone's XRAY, esp if it will cause 2 months delay.

If St. Lukes is claiming that they have state of the art equipment, why they still have to cause so much pain in the #### to fellows who needs medical result to confirm TB.

Because it is the CDC who sets the standards and not the Department of State or St. Lukes Medical Extension.
