Wife in Philippines, Green Card Ordered, no I-551

My wife and I had our AOS interview September 9 and passed. Prior to that she got word her brother is dying. Even though a K-3 visa is multiple entry, we requested an emergency Advance Parole just to be safe. After receiving the AP, we got the letter telling us the interview would be September 9. Only thing is, we already had an airline ticket to the Phils with departure on September 10, the day after our interview.

The immigration officer did not stamp ehr passport. She told us the AP would be sufficient. We got an email telling us on the same day of the interview that her green card was being ordered.

I still feel nervous even though the IO said she would be ok. She will be returning October 1 with no stamp, and no green card in hand, only with the advance parole and her K-3 visa. I just get afraid they will somehow fault her for not having the green card with her, even though that is impossible, since I still have not even seen it in the mail yet.

You think she will be ok at the POE?

Thanks

The AP and K3 are void as of the date on he GC. You may have to fedex it to her if the GC comes soon. Sounds like it will.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

if her GC doesn't arrive on time, she'll be fine with just the AP. i was in the phils when my GC got approved. and the date on my GC when I actually received it (right after i came back to US) was a month before my return flight.

if you get a ticketing officer at check-in counter who is not familiar with your situation, they'll call in somebody to double check if your wife's name is indeed included among those recently issued the AP, among other things.

when she comes back, she should show the AP first and then her passport.

her AP is good for one year, GC or no GC. having the GC though makes her "more legit" to come back (re-enter) to US

good luck and god bless!
