Hello one and all. Jane and I are new to the forums. We talk daily on Skype and often do exploring online together. We recently found this website and we are so glad to see other people experiencing what we are going through. My question is this for those Philippine couples that have recently gone on this journey. Are you required to purchase a round trip flight ticket once Visa approved. We have heard that Philippine immigration will not allow the woman to board to come to the USA unless she has a round trip ticket is this true? Thanks ahead of time and look forward to talking with you all.

no a round trip ticket is not needed, and if she gets into states thru a K-1 visa, if she goes out, she cannot go back in US using that.. you will have to apply for the adjustment of status, with advance parole(travel document) after the wedding..

so no, you do need a ticket for her to go back home..you will be married in the US and she will be staying with you so there is no need for a round trip ticket

although the K-1 visa after it is issued has an expiry date, it must be used to i think in 4 months :) hope that helps

Once issued a K-1 is valid for up to 6 months, and a one-way ticket is just fine. Some of the airlines will ask to see the visa in the passport before issuing the boarding cards, but since the K-1 is a a non-immigrant visa w/ immigrant intent, one does not need a return ticket to leave the country.

hi im a K1 fiance visa and live here in Kentucky. for the answer, its not required to purchase a round trip flight ticket, i came here alone and my fiance bought me an online ticket through Northwest airline, i just showed my eticket, itinerary and passport, it was my first time to fly allone, but yet what matters most is your fiance or wife has a valid travel document for her to exit the Philippines, she needs to pay for the fees also at NAIA. the Philippine immigration will not let her exit the country if she didnt attend the CFO, thats a sticker to be attached to her passport, its a mandatory requirement.
