Is This Normal?

On August 27, my fiancé in Santa Monica received the NOA2 hard copy. The date of approval is August 25, 2007. He has been ringing the NVC a week after the approval date but until today, the NVC still said that they have no record of our case yet. According to the USCIS, our papers were already sent to the NVC in August. We knew that info because I also requested my precious baby to contact the USCIS. I keep checking the timelines here and I feel quite down because those who were approved after us, their papers are already being sent to their respective embassies or they have already received Packet 3.

Is it possible that the NVC already has our case but they keep mum about it since they are making an additional background check? My sexy angel was three years old when he and his parents moved to the U.S. from India. Is the government trying to investigate if he got his U.S. citizenship legally?

I really want to see my precious baby again very, very soon. We have been hoping to attend together his sister's wedding in New York on October 24 but with this thing at present, I don't know anymore.

Does anybody have some thoughts regarding this? I shall certainly appreciate your responses.

Its normal - can take a week, can take several weeks from the time the petition is approved until NVC receives it (sometimes longer although a couple is typical).

I am in the same boat, our case was approved on september 2 2009, but as of today, nvc has not received our case. hmmmm
