What's worse... Obama throwing ACORN under the bus or Bush sticking by incompetent & perhaps corrupt individuals (e.g. Attorney General Gonzalez)? Don't get me wrong... I don't know a whole lot about ACORN but what I know isn't good... but like most things in politics it goes both ways.

One of the first, most honest and impartial posts I've seen regarding ACORN.

Did you read about the judge who threw out Orly Taitz's lawsuit alleging that Obama is not a US Citizen? You should read what the judge said. Right Wingers are essentially saying and have been saying for a long time that ACORN is corrupt and prove it otherwise. So do yourself a favor and read what that judge said.

I suspect ACORN has done some good & I have no doubt that the right wing has distorted the facts, but ACORN hasn't exactly been a model organization. Once a person or organization has done something to make a bad impression it's nearly impossible to get over it & that's where ACORN is at.

I think you're right on that. I personally would like to see the organization splintered off or closed up as such. The Right Wing witch hunt over ACORN will continually overshadow any good that they do. Ignorance runs rampant....most people on the street know the acronym and the allegations, but know little else. It would be nearly impossible to change that now. Had they been widely known beforehand, it might be a different story.

Well tootz I don't change my opinions or "demons" based on what the flavor of the week is. As for Tim McVeigh he murdered a lot of innocent people so calling him a demon is about as controversial as calling the sun hot.
