Suggestion for Ewok: Single sign-on

If we do a single sign-on, perhaps at least two screens would be required, so that the timid and easily offended do not "accidently" fall onto evil side of VJ. Not everybody is ready to face Eric, or the alter egos of the normally pleasant VJ members, in an unmoderated enviroment.

If the other site does get the traffic of VJ, or worse, what will there be to differentiate that site from the /b chan sites? I anticipate that moderation will infest the other site as well, out of neccessity.

I address this in my original post.

No hyperlinks are necessary, the Internet is viral like that. We don't need to be pointed, we'll find it if it's there.

Let me flesh that out a little. Basically, single sign-on would exist but would not be advertised. No admin-sponsored hyperlinks will be necessary. If the capability exists, those of us who go on the site will figure it out. Once we do, the knowledge will go viral. I envision people linking to posts on the other site within their posts on this site; posters unfamiliar with the other site will click on the links and discover they are not only authenticated there, their ability to post there is relatively unfettered. A particular posting style will inevitably evolve (in fact, it already has) on that site and VJers who find that appealing will stick around. Those that do not will come back and participate on VJ in a style that better suits their own personal posting styles.
