Contractors tried to move Cunningham Hall across campus early this morning, but the building didn't make it.

They were taking it up a hill next to Meany Hall, but the truck hauling the building had an alignment problem with the its many wheels, causing the drive shaft to break.

Officials initially said they thought the problem was that the truck didn't have enough power for the job, but they've since settled on the alignment issue as the source of today's delay.

The building and truck are blocking a service road next to the NE 40th entrance to campus, northwest of the architecture building. The move was supposed to have been completed by 6 this morning.

They are going to try to move it again at 1 p.m. UW spokesman Bob Roseth told KOMO Radio there has been no damage to the building.

The hall is being relocated to make room for a new molecular engineering building.

The only inconvenience is to several people who may have their cars parked in the garage under Red Square.

The university closed the garage last night in anticipation of the move, so anyone who parked there will not be able to get their vehicle out until the move is completed.

I think the interior --- but not sure. I cannot believe the chopfvcks didn't measure precisely how much torque they would need damnit. They are paying 2 million bucks to get the awful thing moved. Priceless....

I don't know, sis - that truck looks pretty big and not sure you'd find one bigger than that.

It sounds like someone underestimated the weight of the building and were hoping to preserve the building rather than tearing it down.

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).
