The government couldn't even run the Mustang Ranch in Nevada and make a profit, so I sure as hell don't want them running any health care programs!

 sad but true

My ex-husband works in a polymer industry where he handles a product that is equivalent to five sticks of dynamite for every pound of product. My Father worked in the same industry. My Father is also ex-Navy.

I work in a mental health facility where I run the risk everyday of being physically harmed.

There are lots of dangerous jobs out there.

Veterans have the VA for medical care. If the government wants to give them TriCare also on top of that - hey have at it. I have no problem with it.

Here's the bottom line - don't stand there and tell me you DESERVE something more than I do.

Do you know why that is such a crock of bull$hit? NOT because you deserve it. NOT because I deserve it. NOT because of what my employer thinks and not because of what your employer thinks.

BECAUSE it shows you have no concept of gratitude for but for the grace of God it could be you.

What I'm hearing from some here is that.

1. Government managed healthcare is the best you can get in this country.

2. BUT...unless you're willing to die for your country in the military, you don't deserve it.

To the notion that the only way to serve your country and be deserving of decent healthcare is through the military, I say BS.

I respect the military and the sacrifices they and their families continue to make. I believe that they are absolutely deserving of recognition,

and the best healthcare that is possible. However, I believe that they are fighting not just for themselves and their families, but for the entire country.

I do NOT believe that anyone should be handed out healthcare or money the way we do with the welfare system. If you're born with the ability to work,

but choose not to, that's your problem not mine. If you're too lazy to find a job and support yourself, that's your problem, not mine. If you're actually disabled,

that's fine. Being addicted to drugs or addicted to having babies, to me is not a disability, it's a choice.

However, I firmly believe that anyone and everyone who is not a criminal, who is gainfully employed, and who pays their taxes IS contributing to this country.

I believe that well managed and affordable healthcare should be available to all contributing citizens, not as prize for selecting one specific way of serving your country,

but for showing what a country worth living or dying for has as a standard of treatment for ALL of her contributing citizens..

I believe those in the military are more deserving of government bennies than those who did not serve, and that includes me. I'm grateful to them.

So you're in favor of government health care, just not for everyone?

Oh, FFS.

This isn't about who deserves what.

This is about people not realizing what they have. No matter where they got it from. And about insensitivity and a cavalier attitudes towards the 'have nots'.

I agree, RJ. But I'm trying to show the faulty logic coming from those who say that government health care can't work. If they truly believe that, then they'd be in favor of ending health care for veterans as well as the elderly. They won't come out and say that of course....certainly no one like Rep. Wilson because he knows he'd p!ss of his constituents. Who lies and who deceives? That's the game here.

You know RJ is on to something here. AND what the F _ _ _! I am a taxpayer why shouldn't I get free healthcare just like the military of USA does???? I mean without me paying all these taxes there is no military! Totally pisses me off!
