Hello,

This is about someone I know -- a husband and wife, the wife being the GC holder, and the husband being USC. They moved one year ago, about 4 blocks (same city) from the address they had when they filed. They changed their address on their bank statements, etc, etc, everything.

This was one year ago.

According to USCIS, the husband needed to send via mail a change of address form within 30 days of moving, and the wife needed to submit a form AR-11 within 10 days of moving. Neither did any of this.

My question is: What should they do now? Should they submit the forms? (Any address check would show their new address) If so, should they say that they moved the real time they moved (a year ago)? Or should they say it was within the past month?

They are terrified right now.

What should they do? What are the risks????

Please help ugently today, please. They are really terrified.

I forgot to mention that USCIS hasn't said anything to them. After reading my message above it looks like that might be the case. Nope, I just told them that that's what USCIS needs from them.

The penalties for not telling USCIS the change of address are horrific!!!!!

Really, what can they do?

Is nothing the best course of action?

Or should they submit the forms?

If they submit the forms, should they lie and say it was 10 days ago?

Or should they tell the truth, saying when they actually moved (even though it was WAAYY more than 10 or 30 days ago). What could the consequences realistically be?

I am sure there have been a LOT of other people in this exact same situation.
