btw, the America of your youth, the America that you reminisce of, it's long gone.. I think that people should embrace a changed America (no, not Obama Change, just a changed America), and that's the main problem, America is not the America of the youth of anybody, it's different, and people should change as well and adapt

in the America of my youth we didn't have such a large percentage of society on welfare, or working jobs that don't pay taxes, drug related killings, MS13 gang activity, illlegal aliens in mass, road rage confrontations, mass murders by lunatics in public places, latino run whorehouses staffed by kidnapped underaged illegal girls, illegals killing thru homicide by vehicle while DUI, terrorist acts within the US, "home invasions", muslim prayer calls from towers in detroit that offend non-muslims in the area, black on white violence on anything near the scale we have today, etc.

maybe you weren't in America in the 70's, but it was a much more coherent and sedate place. people were safer because their fellows behaved more appropriately. much of the change we have seen since then can be placed squarely at the feet of illegal immigration, and the rest can be blamed on "diversity". remind me again what i got in exchange for the peace of my youth that has been worth the price.

No, it wasn't. The crime rate was at an all-time high during the 1970s and had risen sharply in the late 1960s.

It has been steadily declining since then.

In 2004, America's crime rate was roughly the same as in 1970, with the homicide rate being at its lowest level since 1965.

HAHAHHAHA :rofl: so true, Pedroh has this idea that the USA has changed to accept illegal immigration and embraces it and wants it, which he is very wrong. Those people at those town hall meetings and tea parties are mostly middle class moderates that are upset at the total nonsense in this country federal government. So yeah Pedron there is going to be some change to embrace in the next few years elections, a lot of these liberal illegal immigration loving politicians are going to be voted out of office and then replaced with new politicians that will crack down on it. So yes there is going to be change I agree and America has changed it has awakened and now there is going to be true positive change!

was I just talking about illegal immigration? nope.. good try..

again, if you've ever read my posts, I'm not for illegal immigration, it's a non sustainable model that should stop.. I am for respecting illegals rights, and not treating them like 3rd class citizens...

Change? by the teabaggers? who claim Obama is an extremist muslim? a fuhrer? I certainly don't want change by those ignorants.. and to say that the majority is like that, it's quite sad..

Rights?? What rights do any illegal alien criminals deserve?? They deserve lead in their A$$ if anything. Get real, they broke the law willingly and knowingly and should be punished accordingly not coddled like babies! You know Pedroh I get the distinct impression that the only reason you support Ovomit is because of his race not what his policy and ability truly is, not what kind of job he does. I never saw you defending GW Bush when he was attacked by Democrats and other liberal posters that did nothing but compare Bush to Hitler or Stalin or how he was restricting their freedoms or spying on Americans like Communist Russia did and Nazis. Now that is really classy is it not to do that, but yet you think it was ok, but not ok when your boy(or man so we can be politically correct even though it is a figure of speech for centuries in the USA)Ovomit takes the heat or criticism for his poor policies and poor decision making ability. Oh and watch you will play the race card like so many of you do when you see so many teabaggers or birthers or town hall people up in arms complaining or protesting the president, you see any white person critical of Ovomit or questioning him and suddenly it is race card excuse, sorry it is not going to work anymore race has nothing to do with it, but the bad job Ovomit is doing the guy does not get it, he is stinking it up.

there was nothing to defend about BUsh's policies.. wiretapping without warrants, clear violations of Americans civil rights (everybody, whites, blacks, latinos), and unfunded 'facts' to go to war.. torture abuse to detainees.. seriously, what's there to defend? I will never defend anything that violates the rights of the citizens..

now, to your point, I'm very dissapointed that Obama backed out of closing GITMO, I'm very dissapointed that he's backing down on alot of measures he proposed.. but cmon.. the complains of the birthers?? about if he's a USC?? I mean, make a real complain, I think there are some stupid complains that should be ignored, like the birthers and, the teabaggers comparing Obama to a muslim or nazi regime, that's just not even worth noting..

you show your true colors talking about the race card.. I've never ever mentioned the race card in Obama's administration.. does the race bother you? seems like..

although, you mightbe right, I might support Obama because he's a Black Extremist Muslim Nazi Supremacist.. definitely that's why I support him

Including prenatal care, delivery, and the hospital, my son cost me 460 bucks, was hardly a weeks pay back then. My son's daughter cost him over $15,000 last year for the same thing. But I don't believe he earns 15,000 bucks per week.

It's not healthcare cost that is the problem, we just ain't making enough.

My non-deductible family policy was costing me 78 buck per month for a family policy, son has a deductible plus has to pay 20% so he was billed over 5,000 bucks, his insurance picked up the rest, if there was any rest.

If I were to quit or leave my job back then, could keep that same exact policy and continue to pay 78 bucks per month, today for lack of a better word, you are screwed blue.

Over that same time period, wages have only increased by 38%. All the politicians have to do is to look up those regulation laws and reinstate them, healthcare was not a problem back then.

Nick - Health insurance cost a LOT less back when your son was born. A lot. That's why most of us didn't pay a dime for it 30 years ago.

Sure we aren't making enough - we aren't making enough to cover the escalated costs. Otherwise wages have nothing to do with it, IMO.

Just looking at it the other way, healthcare cost would not be a problem if we were making 15,000 bucks a week. Another son need an IV last month, has a 20% copay policy, doctor said, only way they could give it was for him to be admitted in the hospital. I visited him, tiny room with a bed and an old TV, we talked for a couple of hours, nurse came in once to check the IV, came back twenty minutes later. He was billed $7,000.00 for that 21 hour stay. His share was $1,400.00, wouldn't that $1,400.00 be more than enough to cover that? It's highway robbery!
