am not sure if CR1 works the same as K1 with Translations , but i know with K1 you can translate the Documents your self ,

so if its works the same maybe you can translate the documents your self and have it notorized .

but I bet someone with more knowlage will confirm if I'm right

no notarization required... a simple signed "certification" statement indicating competency in both languages usually suffices but that is for the USCIS and/or the consulate...

The OP indicated these documents are needed for the "wedding" so another government entity may be involved with a different requirement

We had everything translated in Morocco where it was MUCH cheaper and everything went fine for us.

The only issue we have had with the translations was getting his drivers license here, they wouldn't accept the translations. We needed them re-translated by someone they approve... I thought it was funny that they wouldn't accept what the USCIS and embassy accepted... But we all know the DMV isn't full of the smartest people.

Do you remember how much it would have cost you guys to get your papers translated in the US ?
