Yea LOL its been 11 days!

Things are great. Im enjoying my time. George is in Lebanon until next Wed night, his company is closed for 7 days during Eid.

I live in upstate ny so I dont get to see all that cool stuff personally, but its pretty nice in my area during the holidays. We wont be spending Christmas here this year though, it will be my first Christmas in Lebanon. We still dont have a date set that we are leaving here to head to Lebanon, maybe mid Oct we will decide.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Are you stopping cold turkey with no help? The cravings do pass eventually. For some it's longer than others. The last time I quit I think it took a good month before I wasn't craving one. Also helps if there are no smokers in the house. Since hubby's been in Cairo the house is a lot less smelly. He only smokes on the porch in the spring/summer/fall and down in his 'manroom' in the winter but the smell gets through a little still.

I'm hoping that my 13 yr old will clean on Friday in preparation. :) Sometimes she just gets fed up with it and cleans like a madwoman for a good two hours. LOVE THAT! She is always sleeping over one of her friends' houses so I figured it's my turn. Then I'll be good to go for about 3 months or so. :P

Happy HUMP Day MENA!

Maureen,....awesome about your daughter! (F)

Brnd...CONGRATS to the hubster! It's an amazing time once they start working :) I'm luvin' every minute of it!:thumbs:

*******************

So, we have house guests...my cousin by marriage and her tribe staying w/ us. It's been a nightmare to say the least but they leave today at 2pm! We found them a nice apt and I just put the deposit down last night and got their electric turned on...a small price to pay to have my home back!! I couldnt be more excited.....last night her son (3 yrs old) started giving my kids dog food...YEP, dog food. He would fill his pockets and throw the food into their room while they were playing (over the top of their gate). I had asked her to keep him away from the babies as he's to rough w/ them and thinks they are dolls. Plus he gets rough when they have a toy he wants. So she was busy on the phone and computer and he was out in the kitchen, grabbing food and then throwing it to the babies. My BIL saw this and freaked out on her....he saw the dog food and a "bacon treat" which he started screaming when he saw the "pork". Uggh...she didn't eat it but still he thought she might have. It was a nightmare last night.... :crying::whistle::blink: So thank god they are leaving...She needs a lot of help being such a young Mom but I just don't have the energy to start from scratch. :sleepy:

****************** IS IT FRIDAY YET??? ********************

OH and CHERYL....GOOD LUCK GIRL! Proud of you!!! Hang in there....the cravings will subside after a while. (F)

Yea the ticker is counting to Dec 19th which is the latest we will be in NY. Nope not leaving here mid Oct. The soonest we are leaving NY is end of Nov. George cant do anything to get a set date until after Eid, so im figuring by mid Oct i will know something.

you are so sweet Annie :luv:

and patient

(F) Thank you honey. I think if you do good for others it always comes back to you. She needs someone to give her a little tough love (which I don't hold back from my opinions..lol) and a push to be on their own. I'm hoping this is their new start.

27 hours to go until we're in the air heading back to the US! Take off cannot come soon enough. I am SO exhausted from packing all day, and AF's visit is wiping me out. I am a mega-super-b!tch and the hubby is tolerating my crabbiness and demanding behavior way better than I deserve. I am stressed about all that we have left to do in the next 24 hours, so stressed that I think I am overlooking how nervous/anxious/stressed HE must be about leaving. what a bad wife :( He is downstairs at the barber getting his hair cut now, so when he gets home I will be sure to give him a big hug and check in and see how he's doing.

We just got back from scarf shopping in the nearby market... man, they really jack the prices up at Eid, don't they? Scarves that I could've bought back in December or April for 7LE ended up costing us about 20LE. And I didn't even open my mouth to betray my non-Egyptian-ness.

Ugh, I want to sleep. Need to go check our airline reservations...

Hugs to everyone who needs them. I hope you're all doing well! :star:
