I'm at the Fedex Store right now & I've tried all day to send my first packet. Fedex nor UPS sends to a PO box, so what the heck am I supposed to do?

Does anyone have a quick address for the California Service Center that is a street address?

I seriously want to cry right now. I drove around for 30 minutes looking for this store & now I can't even send it :-(

You can't get signature confirmation when you ship to a P.O. box. Haole has the correct address for private courier deliveries to CSC. It's also listed on this page:

First, sending the petition Fedex is a fool's errand. This is a 6 month+ process, why do you need to get it there overnight? Send it USPS regular mail, with delivery confirmation, anything else is a waste of money. If you simply must get it there overnight, only to sit and wait a few days to be opened...read the instructions. There is a separate address given for Fedex and UPS deliveries. Stop, take a breath, read...follow instructions.

FedEx ground is cheap enough. I used it for less than $5 bucks to send off the adjustment of status package. Included tracking.

Seconded. I have ALWAYS sent to the PO box for peitions AND AOS for three people AND have always received sugnature confirmation. However signature confirmation is not needed (I want it) and probably adds a day or so to the time (not an issue in a petition or AOS process for me) but regular "delivery confirmation" is fine.

Sorry, my mistake. You are correct.

My statement was based on my vague recollection of not accepting PO box destinations for small items I had sold on eBay. Many times, I had items returned because the recipient picked up their mail during hours when the service window wasn't open, so they would receive the notice but not return during regular hours to pickup the parcel. I also had items delivered to private mail box agencies that were signed for by an employee of the agency rather than the recipient, and then the recipient claimed to have never received the item. The biggest problem I had was buyers who would select shipping by a private courier, and then give a PO box destination address. Private couriers cannot deliver with signature confirmation to a PO box because the post office won't collect the signature for them.

So, had my memory been better, I should have said that it was my policy not to send anything to a PO box with signature confirmation.

Yeah you threw me there because I had sent all mine to P.O. Boxes, but I also got signatures for them as well since I sent them certified mail. Maybe things have changed since? Hmm curious

UPS sends to PO boxes - I sent my stuff with them.

UPS agents aren't supposed to accept a package for delivery to a PO box. There are only two entities that have access to a PO box - the agency that leases the PO box to the customer, and the customer who leased the box. If the box is in a post office, UPS has no way to get the package (or letter) into the box.

UPS agents do something screw up, and accept a package with PO box destination address. What happens after that is anybody's guess. Sometimes they hand the package (or notice) to the post office staff to be placed in the box. Sometimes they return the package to the sender. Sometimes they see if they have a physical address on file for the box owner, and then deliver to the physical address. I once sent a box of Christmas gifts to a friend in North Carolina. I went to a "Postal Annex" store that accepted packages for UPS, and used the PO box number my friend gave me. UPS delivered the package to the mayor of the city, who happened to have the same name as my friend.
