BY you haven't shown any interest whatsoever in trying to identify the cause - if you were you wouldn't readily try to end the debate by pointing the finger at African Americans and declaring them to be the culprits and that all other social considerations are moot.

Nor have you offered any solutions that don't involve people being forced (by force) to behave in a way that you deem acceptable (via corporal punishment, trips to jail etc. etc. etc.).

This is your home isn't it?

You're here...

Nevertheless- noone is asking you to be the Solution. Just ID the root cause(s) as you've alluded to family unit breakdowns previously. Even that has root causes unless they are characteristic properties of the people involved.

You can't discuss fixing something that you haven't properly identified... so narrow down the conclusion to more simple things. An engineer can't discuss a completed project before first breaking it down into its components. You should know this man.

I'm not saying it's not my home but it's clear that the majority of people don't give a ######. Which is why these folks are in this position on the first place. Then we have those who believe discussing the why is more important than figuring out how to solve it. I am sure you will say your not doing that, however, in all the years I have chatted with you guys, not even a small fraction of your posts regarding this issue have ever been spent on discussing solutions. The majority of them are spent staunchly defending the why; better yet, discredit or playing down the facts. I am not ignoring the why and never have. You're just not going to get a, "Well you don't know what they have been through or going through" out of me. Engineers don't waste time crying about the hows and whys, they spend the time actually solving the problem.

It's really demotivating to the few like myself who actually want to help to sit here and waste time discussing the why.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

This thread should be deleted for being such an abomination.

You just said that engineers look for the root cause to find the solutions to solve the problem. Now you're saying that this is all BS and that fixing the problem is more important than understanding the problem to start with.

The mind boggles...

All you guys do is look at the "root cause". That is all you have ever done period. Out of 1,000 posts on the issue, 10 will have an actual solution.

Do you actually believe you are doing something by beating on about the why or the cause? Do you actually think that is productive?

Nobody refutes that the majority of the people here don't care beyond their lives. What majority that would be is up to define at a later point I guess.

As for personal references... it really isn't any more your business to speculate about others as they do with you. I don't need to go there and neither should you. Just being civil.

As for solving the problems... again... the exact root of the problem needs to be defined, yes? Don't get carried away forcing a phillips screwdriver into a flathead groove without checking.

The why IS the problem.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

I don't believe any of us is doing anything by ranting on a message board.

I'm well aware of this fact, I wonder why you keep trying to dress it up as anything more than that.

I don't pretend to have the answers - and trotting out heavy handed police state ideas might seem like progress to you, but it sounds like ####### to me.

So you tell me then what justification, what why, is there for the 2.2 to 1 in terms of raping a woman.

Well then, maybe restricting guns is a bad idea. Clearly personal protection will not come from the likes of the ACLU or the anti-police types.

That kid should have been carrying a gun and shot both of those two straight in the head. Maybe their brain would have splattered on the face of those laughing. Is that the sort of society you want to live in? Or should the kid beaten senseless just take it all in the name of why? Should the women raped just take it all in the name of why? After all, whether you admit it or not that is what you are pretty much insinuating. Do nothing until the why is ironed out.

We live in a civilized society. Someone's personal problems should never be an excuse for assaults or violence.

I already have for the overall 'bad behavior.' But you really haven't- which is why I ask.

Its not about a justification, use more concise language- its about causality.

I can reframe it for you if you wish.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Take a deep breath and calm down.

If you're really interested you can read my first post in the thread. I'm not going to repeat myself.
