Beating on school bus upsets parents

BY I am well aware that kids fight in schools.

I am also well aware that bullying, racism and bigotry of all kinds factor into this (and that was certainly consistent with my experience in High School).

Public High Schools aren't monasteries BY where iron discipline is enforced by the liberal use of corporal punishment.

Quite simply, its the reality of how things are - it isn't a commentary on wider society, however much you have a stick up your ####### about those unruly minorities.

Well I have never seen such a thing and I went to a tough school, renowned for toughness, in a city of 4 million. A school where two people from my grade level are currently in prison.

You also seem to ignore the article posted twice, which clearly discusses an increase in violence.

We never senselessly beat up a geek at our school. Heck we had enough brain power to be their friends, aka help with school work. The tough guys would at least fight other tough guys from other schools. Not helpless geeks. We all knew to pick on someone our own size and strength.

Interesting point Danno and also quite true. There was a case a few months back where a young African American kid beat a kid to death who was ridding is bike in broad daylight. Both of the kids were from a middle class family too. Typical story of the grandma is raising the child while the mother is probably whoring around.

There's no question about whether these things happen elsewhere - they absolutely do.
