Question about POE and claiming baggage...

Hi all,

i was wondering, when my fiancee gets to Dallas, Texas (her POE), will she have to go through all the immigration ####### first, or will she claim her baggage first?

She has a really big, heavy bag that she is worried about having to carry around while doing the immigration stuff.

But she is also worried that if she does the immigration first that her bag will be left unattended on the carousel and someone will get it.

So if someone who has been through this could please respond, i would appreciate it.

Thanks.

the intl. terminal where she arrives is very convenient to customs. she will claim baggage then proceed to her interview. very simple and painless...

Yes - I think that is the way most airports are, plus there are almost always baggage carts (free usually) to wheel bags around so you don't have to carry them.

Hi, my POE is in LAX but if she gets off at Dallas , her POE... then she has to go through immigration first, then get her luggages then proceed to customs. She need not worry about her luggages. It will all be there at the specified carousel number as soon as she gets through immigration. Lots of luck!

Based on experience, I went to immigration first before claiming the luggage.

I have a question too....Rockhouse and tallcoolone

which AIRLINE have you used in order to have DALLAS as POE?

Mostly will be LAX or SFO and I was wonder how you are able to accomplish that for DALLAS POE?

It will be convenient for me too to have her arrive at DALLAS too....

Thanks to all who reply...

DFW Airport is the 3rd busiest airport in the world, so it gets lots of planes.

American Airlines is based out of DFW, and it the main hub for other airlines also.

American Airlines flies directly into DFW from Asia, Usually from Manila you go to either China or Japan first and then fly direct into DFW.

I would suggest using either SFO or Las Vegas or DFW as your POE instead of LAX, if you can

My girl is from Cebu, so she's flying Korean Air to ICN (Seoul), then direct to Dallas. Pretty simple itinerary for her.

Sounds like a simple itinerary. And I have heard POE at DFW is pretty quick and easy

When is she scheduled to arrive?

All 3 times I came back from the Philippines, I arrived at both LAX and SFO. Everytime I was required to go through customs before I claimed my baggage. Every time I was out of customs and waiting for my bags too!!
