Can someone help me with the format for the employment verification letter. Can it be to whom it may concern or does it have to be address to the American Consulate of my fiance's country?

Thanks,

VA

Either or - most do just fine with "To Whom It May Concern"

To whom it may concern is fine. I'm not sure how it works with everyones employers, but I just had the HR at my work type up my employment verification (they actually have this service with my work, and was able to noterize it).

Ingats!

Just to clarify for others... it isn't necessary to have this letter notarized (doesn't hurt if you do, but it's not needed).

Yeah I didn't see it was require to be notarized. Yeah the HR department is creating the letter and is simple and to the point. I just wanted to know if it needed to be more "professional" with the consulate address & wording.

Thanks,

Rayito

Something like this:

To Whom It May Concern:

Rayito has been an employee of "Rayito's Company" since Month day, year, a total

of over xx years. He has a full-time position as a xxxx. His salary is $xxxxx per year.

This position is permanent, and Rayito’s prospects for performance based

advancement and salary increases are excellent.

Regards,

Rayito's Boss

(I took this example from the Nolo guide I bought)

PS: Remember to put the embassy address on the upper right hand corner of the letter)

I hope it helps!

Exactly, doesn't need to be notarized, they just had that option for me @ work and I got it done anyways.. . Rule of thumb for me is, if it doesn't specify a particular individual to address it to.. "To whom it may concern" is good and professional enough

Also, I didn't need to have the Embassy address on the letter.

Good luck with your papers!!
