The dentist billing difference could be because your wife hadn't been to a cleaning, some places have a regular cleaning and an extra hard cleaning cause you been naughty and didn't show up for a year so there is more build up cleaning... but they call it something like deep cleansing or some other much shorter thing.

Nope it was a regular cleaning. In and out in 30-45 minutes.

The U.S. has better things to do with its time and itself then to achieve number one status.

Be proud of mediocrity!

Which is funny because the US prides it self on being number one; that is, winner takes all.

Shh 32 is a long ways away from number 1, shouldn't you be licking your own wounds and figuring out a solution so you can brag about how great the health care is in Australia.

Well, we are number one is many horrible things.

Things like millions of people in jail.

(And I can bet anyone that most of them are only there because they are not rich.)

I cannot imagine another country with more.

In EXCELLENCE though we are lacking...left wanting.

Too few too far.

Oh hey look there more of that constructive criticism hal was telling me about.

Oh hey look there more of that constructive criticism hal was telling me about.

I can write a few essays of constructive criticism.

Forgive my only ranting and not saying what can be done.

Here:

Allow all the poor innocent people out of jail, jail the guilty rich, and let's move on with creatively reconstructing this country.

Some quick training on sustainable farming/growing (even in cities), green building, etc etc – I can go on if you wish – and then put every one to work.

If we took the 100 mile challenge (to eat what's grown within a 100 miles) we would be healthier and so would the planet.

Let's take care of our land and our people.

This is a tiny start.

lets ignore the fact that your response is dripping with sarcasm....but what happened to pointing out some of the good things about what you are criticizing so as not to put the other person on the defense. I must be old school because I just dont see that anymore, Ive got so much to learn from you young whippersnappers.

Maybe the don't need it. After all, they do have one of the longest life spans in the world. Yes beating the French who are number one. Ever thought of that.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

People are in prison here because they have no notion of the law. Contrary to popular belief by some, people are not in prison because they are stealing bread to survive. Clearly the attitude in certain communities is that you either enter the entertainment industry, or you resort to crime. Educating yourself or learning a trade to start a legitimate business does not seem to even cross one's mind in such communities.

As pointed out in by another member, strange coincidence regarding the demographics of the states with the lowest crime rates in America; even lower than Australia and Canada actually.

How about you saving Crapigan first since the state looks like a third world country.. Last thing that comes to mind regarding Michigan is money. Detroit is like a third world war torn city.

WHO is measuring quality of health care amongst other things. Naturally, you can have a basic sedan equivalent quality and then have a quality all the way to a 750 LI BMW equivalent. Clearly France invests a lot in the quality of their health care. However, quality in health care alone does not equate to a higher standard of living or a better quality of life.

Two interesting/curious things here:

1. That you think i was being sarcastic, when I am deadly and possibly naively serious.

2. I am probably older than you. Interesting how people guess at such things.

The good things are always the good things ever where at every time:

we always have choices.

We can choose to continue this train wreck, or we can stop!

Stop and take stock of what there actually is and what we can do.

Too much smoke and mirrors (thanks Wall Street) and not enough clarity and care for others and Mother Earth.

Let's row this boat together.

It's not that big.
