I thought it was interesting that roughly 60% of the bankruptcies in this country (as of 2007) were directly related to medical costs.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Its depressing that people still think that the US has the best healthcare system when this is the reality.

People still think like that regarding a number areas. For some reason suggesting otherwise using actual facts, as in international rankings, seems to be perceived as hating.

In reality, this attitude is what is keeping the US back in so many areas.

Well, we are number one is many horrible things.

Things like millions of people in jail.

(And I can bet anyone that most of them are only there because they are not rich.)

I cannot imagine another country with more.
