Ironically, my rice cooker just recently died! It's okay though as we'll need a larger one once she's here. I suspect the toaster killed it as the toaster has been slowly dieing over tha last 2 months, might of been one of those "If I'm going down at least I'll take you with me" situations...

I try to anticipate her needs before she gets here and fix things accordingly,

Shift things to one side of the closet, Ricemaker, locate local filipino community and markets

Really just a lot of things to do while she sleeps and Im awake. Soon I will be on a plane to sit in on the interview so time is moving so slow.

I will be careful with all those APPLIANCES.....

Start getting the HOUSE in order.....and especially CLEAN UP any relics from old flames if there is any left around...less explaining to do later...if you have not done so already

Well, I was divorced for almost 10 years before we got married so except for old pictures stored in a plastic bin the ex-wife is gone from the house. There are pics of ex-gfs from the 10 yrs as a single man and I've already told her that they are part of my past so I won't destroy them but they will remain in the plastic bin with the ex-wife.

Any gifts from former flames were pretty much disposed of at the end of the relationships, there were only a few.

Might be easier to just go crazy and be done with it....

It's now been 7 1/2 months since I held her in my arms...

We're both having "moments of insanity"...

Since the local diving season opened mid April I've logged 60 dives, diving roughly 3 out of 4 weekends!

I find that the preparation, actual diving and everything that comes after the dive serves as a good distraction. It has also helped me further my goal of getting certified as a Master Scuba Diver Trainer as I've advanced to Rescue Diver Certification and earned 5 Speciality Certifications, working on #6, #s 7 & 8 are planned for this winter {Ice Diver} and next spring {Solo Diver}.

My wife is also a Certified Diver so this is an activity we'll enjoy together after she gets here.

So, please both PH wifes & fiancees and USC husbands & fiances, tell me how do you distract yourself from the wait part of "Hurry up and Wait"?

PS: Any FilAm couples who dive (especially if your within 6 hr drive of Chicago suburbs) contact us, we're always looking for dive buddies and it would be nice to have a dive group who've been through the who VISA Journey...

For us, we are involved in an active relationship. I call her when I wake up and she greets me to my new day. Later I call her and put her to bed. On the days she had off and isn't running around Moscow doing errands, we Skype for a number of hours, leaving the computer running while we go about our business. I'll play with the kid while she leaves the room or I watch over him as he plays. Somedays, I'll fire up the laptop with built-in webcam, fire up the house WiFi and walk around with the laptop giving her live commentary as we explore the house and check out the flowers and stuff outdoors.

When she comes, she will know where everything is and we'va made some plans for redecoration.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!

I am planning a trip to the Philippines To visit my Fiancée During Christmas. It will be our first holiday together. I also have to start planning a wedding for the two of us (I have no idea where to begin on that one). Aside from that, work and spending time online with her hopefully will occupy myself and help time move along.
