My real Mom lives in WA and my step-mom is here.. it is a bit confusing with all these moms all over the country :P.

I'm already pretty set and prepared for the $1010 and everything. We'll marry within the week he gets here for the paperwork to start getting filed and then a bigger family orientated ceremony a month or so later.

I think it's basically the same for everyone. Apply for SSN, then marriage certificate, marry then AOS application. Right?

01/23/2009 ----------Leave Athens and my Honey for the processes to begin

02/10/2009 ----------Beginning of Greek Military Obligations for 11 months

03/21/2009 ----------Stationed to Rhodes

07/16/2009-----------Meeting in Spain for 6 days!

08/27/2009-----------Stationed to Nevrokopi

01/10/2010-----------Gets OUT of the Army!

02/16/2010-----------Interview!

02/24/2010-----------Lampros arrives in WA!!!

He didn't just want me long, he wanted me a little longer than forever... :3

Well here's what I know.

The I-94 is good for 90 days. When you file for your AOS the receipt is like the extension to keep everything legal. After marriage you can go do the SSN but it will say "not eligible for work" or something like that on it. Once you get the temporary green card and work permit you have to go get an SSN card updated to allow for work.

Since he is the one applying there is no name change so he can do SSN anytime.

Maria will change her name so we won't do SSN until after the Marriage.

Maire- This is the timeline for the AOS. Find Miami and check the current times

http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/aosstats.php?cfl=

But all the paperwork has to be sent to the Chicago box right?

Yes the Papers are sent to Chicago and then from there your local office will be notified. They will contact you for everything in Miami.

I just want to make sure I do everything correctly. So a ton of research before I make my moves. I don't need to screw anything up! :D :D

That's exactly what I'm thinking, Derek....that's why I'm starting now...lol!

And thank you for all the links!! For those that are wanting to download/print the forms from the USCIS site, you will need to get the I-485, I-765 and I-131 forms. That's all I've done so far...hehe!

Hugs, Liz
