Your FBI security clearance (name check) is not complete.

You only filed in March. It's almost not possible that the clearance could be done.

Our officer, also young but clearly knowledgeable and experienced, told us that we were approved but the clearance was not complete. He also did not stamp the passport, take the EAD or AP documents. He also told us to be patient as this could go on for a few months.

We filed in November and interviewed in March and my husband still does not have his card.

Hi.

Our officer was officer Burke

and I think you signed same paper as I did if you filed I-130 and I-485 together.

when you see I-485 Application type.

I origianlly put H other

and said I-130 and I-485 Concurrently.

and the officer changed it to the A. so I guess he approved our I-130 at the interview.

and I'm pretty sure that's what you signed for as well

He didn't take any of my I-94 or EAD.

but dont' worry

you'll be okay

I got REF letter today.

I had no sooner posted my reply than I saw your other thread about these e-mails.

That's like 3 times in the last week that I've posted what used to be good answers and I've come up WRONG!

Mebbe I oughta stick to Off-Topic.... :P

But...glad to see I was wrong! And yeah, maybe someday we'll get all done here too.... :(

Bah! H seems like the proper answer! I put in the same thing. So the piece of paper you signed was agreeing to accept the change that the immigration officer made then? Hopefully putting "H" won't come back to bite me in the #######.

We had our interview yesterday, in San Francisco.

The officer also said something similar about needing to check our file (can't remember exactly what he said - it's all a bit of a blur). He also got me to sign a form, just after he went through my 485.

He took my I-94 and put a stamp in my passport saying that my I-94 had been lifted, but didn't take my EAD and didn't say anything about being approved.

He told me they would be getting back to me in a few weeks and that all other correspondence would be by mail. When I asked for more clarification (we're going abroad in September and I don't have an AP yet), he said he could probably get what he needed done in a few days.

More stress...

usna,

You've got your wires crossed. Had approval been given at the interview then the documents should have been taken.

Approval that's "not official yet" is not approval.

Yodrak

sounds like an approval to me, because they did not take any of my immigration documents at the time of the interview, I-94 and ect. i believe you already got your approval right there, it's just not official yet
