Hey everyone. I feel so down right now. My husband had his appointment at the Jerusalem consulate and i went with him. We thought this was it... but NO. The officer who interviewed my husband asked him for pictures of our wedding.... my husband told him we have a few pictures in our phones that he can look at, and also he told him i have 3 pictures in my wallet. they did NOT inform us in the appointment letter that we needed to have proof of wedding pictures. So he did not get his visa, they gave him a paper saying they need further proof of our relationship, and they said I need to have proof of dominicle in the USA... i guess because i have been in Palestine for 1 yr now ??? what am i supposed to do? does that mean i have to LEAVE Palestine before my husband can get his visa? i am so sad and stressed, i do not want to leave without him. cant i just have proof of bank accounts and mail i get in the USA? can anyone help me and advise me what to do ??? please, any thoughts / tips are greatly needed !!!! i am so sad right now! the only good thing is that once we have the proof and pictures, we send it in automex (sort of like fed x) and that we don't have to go back because its really a hassle crying.gif

!!! HEART BROKEN AND OUT OF HOPE !!!!

it says we were not approved at this time under section 221 g....administrative processing. how long will it take now ?!

Your in Administrative Processing Now. It could take anywhere from 30 days (as it did with us) all the way up to a year or so. Sorry to be the bearrer of bad news. You really should have come prepared though. No letter states you should bring proof. You need to read between the lines. The Consul is not going to just hand out visas on a whim. But hey, don't feel bad. We brought all of our proof's and we were still put on AP (but for different reasons).

Anyhow, there's no sence in beating a dead horse. Your choices are easy, though they may be hard to swallow. Good luck.

I've never heard of a consulate that doesn't tell you that you will need to provide proof of your relationship when you interview for a fiancee or spousal visa. In the case of a spousal visa, pictures of the wedding would be practically essential. The consulate can't give you a detailed checklist of what evidence is required because each case is different. The bottom line is that you need to convince them that the marriage is not merely for the purpose of immigration. Wedding pictures showing lots of family and friends attending would be a big help in demonstrating this.

The domicile requirements are also stated by the consulate, and detailed here:

http://jerusalem.usconsulate.gov/pdfs/domicile.pdf

Having bank accounts is one type of proof, but you need to prove that you've made arrangements to live in the US, and are actually preparing to do so.

I am sincerely sorry you didn't get your visa, but it seems like you could have been better prepared.

Admin processing is just a term used when additional processing is needed. IT is general and common knowledge that you would need to bring pcitures to the interview of your relationship. AP is common place in your country of interview. It is just part of the process. Get what you need to get done for them.

I do not have information on the domicile. Sorry

Hi there, my fiance is in the similar situation where he had to provide additional documents under 221(g). But when you submit additional documents it does not mean AP will be over. Actually it will be the BEGINNING!!! Only God knows how long it will take. After a month and a half we are still in AP.

Here's a link to AP Tracker to give you an idea about time frame

Good luck!

what the heck ??? its only the "beginning"?? I really thought we were almost there! Just when i thought the NVC was a pain, now these people! what did they ask your fiance for ?? and did they ask him for it at the interview? did they give him a letter also? with us they said "everything looks good BUT we need these before we can issue a visa"

Yes, my fiance got blue slip at the interview and he was told "everything is OK. Bring such and such documents and you'll be fine". A week after the interview we submitted the docs and they said via e-mail "we have to do additional review before we issue visa".

Only after reading this board I've realized that we are in HELL.

You need to join the AP tracker. This is the only place where you can make a little sence of the process. There is a good chance that after you submit your documents you will continue to be in AP. It is common in the MIddle East and third world countries. My husband comes from a high fraud so we were put in AP.
