Hi all;

Long story but we are struggling to get a hard copy of the NOA2. We are approved and the case is currently with U.S embassy in London with us awaiting packet 3.

Do we need a hard copy of the NOA2 for the petitioner interview? The On-line Guide says yes and many onhere say No.

Has it ever been asked for in Packet 3?

Has it ever been asked for at the Petioners Inteview?

Thanks in advance

As a K1 I wasn't asked for a NOA 2 at the interview.

You have to have a NOA 2 copy for AOS, so I would put the wheels in motion now to get that sorted.

I wasn't asked for it at my k1 interview either, thank god cos we onlyanaged to get a copy of it 3 weld ago just in time for my aos interview, (not that the io asked for it then in the end either) I think they have a copy of it already there along with a copy of the I-129f packet. You'll still need it for aos though. :(

Thanks all for your responses. Good stuff and much appreciated. Thank goodness you got your NOA2 in time. Quick question. Can you work before you have AOS done?

Thanks again Paul

Yes, but only with an approved Employment Authorisation Document. This can be filed alongside the AOS and is usually approved before AOS has been completed.

Brilliant. I know it is in the wrong forum that question so i really appreciate you answer. I am planning that i wont be eligible to work until about 2 months after i get there. For the paperwork to be sorted etc. Is that realistic?

It depends how quickly you file your AOS paperwork after getting married. I waited about a month after our marriage to file and according to visajourney trends, I am likely to receive my EAD next month....but....this is the government we are dealing with and as a result I am not banking on anything until I have that EAD in my hands.

You can make things quicker by completing as much of the AOS paperwork as you can ahead of time and then sending it off the day after you have a certified copy of your marriage certificate.
