hy,

My interview is going to be on wed, or 09/16/2009. Would anybody be so kind and tell we wich papers I should take with me exactly?

I'm a little insecure, because of work, my husband is not gonna be able to go with me...

So could you please help me, got confuse and nervous. If I'm not mistaken I have to take even his Passport and Birth Certificate, please help me...

Thanks Marlaise

Assume this for the N-400, you bring in all the original evidence and walk out with it that you submitted with your application in the event your IO wants to verify your copies to make sure you didn't modify any of them, plus anything else you can think of that proves you are living together in a valid marriage. To prove USC of your husband, either his passport or birth certificate will suffice, my wife took in both and walked out with both. You must bring your passport to verify the trips outside of the USA you have taken since you got your green card. I tossed in a utility bill I got since we sent in our application, heard some of the IO's were getting downright nasty about this stupid form of evidence.

Wife had a strong urge to leave the field office after her interview, so I reviewed our evidence in the car before we left to make sure everything was there, for whatever reason her IO insisted on keeping my tax returns, no big deal, have that all on my computer, she also wanted my wife's original divorce papers, but my wife had enough sense to say no to that, that would cost us a small fortune to get that back. Much depends on how lazy or paranoid your IO is, hers was both. Take your time and try to be as professional as possible. We wanted to avoid an RFE, sick of making that long trip again, and again, concentrate on your civic test questions. And try and get a commitment when your oath letter will be sent.

Still or should have your ten year green card, so no big deal if you blow it, but you are so close, you want to succeed, and once you get that certificate, can say bye bye to the USCIS, that is a great feeling. Too bad your husband can't take the day off, being with my wife was the most important thing to me, at least for support.
