K 1 Visa Interview questionaire

Hi Friends,

I got the visa!!!! :dance:

Now, i 'll relate to you how the interview went. Well, i reached New Delhi 1 day before. Just relaxed, groomed myself and had a grand dinner, slept early and got up early on the 16th morning. Reached the U.S Embassy quite early. They allow you to enter 15 mins before the listed time.

So no using going earlier, they just make you wait outside. I went through initial check ups(no mobile phones allowed inside). I "d deposited my stuff at VFS Centre earlier only, so i took only some real certificates, passport and embassy letter with me. Inside the embassy, they gave me a token no. and told me to wait for my Counter no. to flash up on the screen ahead. After 20-25 mins, my token no. along with the counter no. flashed on screen. I walked inside the lobby, looking for my counter. Reached my counter, showed my passport, embassy letter and told them that i 'd already deposited my documents at V.F.S. So, the officer fetched my documents, asked me to pay quickly the fee at another counter and then return back to him. He then checked all the documents, kept most of them with himself and returned proof of relationship to me. He then took my fngerprints. I was then told to wait in the lobby until someone call me at another counter for the interview.

Well, it was v long wait (2 and a half hours, since i had not done breakfast, i was feeling v hungry).....So, my advise is always do breakfast before the interview. In the meantime, i arranged my documents properly, read a v nice book i 'd brought with myself.

So, finally my name was called, i walked to the counter. The visa officer greeted me with a smile, i reciprocated. She asked me just 5 questions, after i took oath-

1. How did u meet?

2. Where will be the wedding?

3. What does he do?

4. What do you do?

5. Where does he live?

Then some more finger prints..And in 2 mins, she was smiling and told me, its approved and will reach with my documents in a week! I couldn't believe it was over. I thanked her and came out.

Now waiting for my documents to reach home soon..

Still waiting for the visa to arrive(late due to holidays)...Do i need to apply for ssn once i get to U.S? Or column of DS230 form regarding the ssn can itself fetch me the ssn?

You'll need to apply after you get here. The question on the DS-230 about the SSN only applies to immigrant visa applicants. The K-1 is technically a non-immigrant visa.

Hi everyone,

I got my K1visa yesterday. But i have one lil confusion.

My surname has been printed as my full name and my Given name as FNU. What does this mean? Can it cause any trouble at POE or in future? If yes,how and where to rectify it?

Hi everyone,

I got my K1visa yesterday. But i have one lil confusion.

Anyone who has dealt with FNU Please help..how to rectify names on passport and visa!?!
