Good morning MENA.

Ast, I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your FIL. Inna lalayhi wa inna illayhi raj'oon. May Allah shed his rahmat, forgive him. And Sandra, I too lost my father years ago. I still miss him terriblely.

On a lighter note, I actually went to bed last night at a decent hour. I feel pretty.......okay. I am certain by the time noonish hits, I will be pooped! This Ramadan, I have been so drained. All I want to do is sleep! Anyhow, I can't believe just less then a week and Ramadan 2009 will be over.

Anyhow have a great Monday everyone!

Astarte....my thoughts and prayers are with you, your husband and your family abroad....may he Rest in Peace (F)

GG....are in Iraq yet?

Maureen, WOW! What a busy birthday month.

I had my G fathers 10th

My uncle's 14th

A cousin on 19th

My sister on 22nd

October 1 is my baby's bday...not hubby ;) but my youngest daughter...she will be 10 and that makes all 3 in the double digits! :o

Weekend was good.

Hubby and I went out with another couple to Marrakech, which is a very authentic Moroccan restaurant with an 8 course meal, music and belly dancin....it was the first time I ever sat with hubby while being entertained by a woman  it was....entertaining to say the least....lol

Ahhh Monday

It is beautiful here tho...getting up into the low to mid 80s.

I am blessed....a dear friend offered her home for us to throw our small wedding reception.

I am deeply touched and happy that now we can celebrate our marriage here soon with family and friends.

I wasn't sure if we could pull it off...just something quick and uneventful...but now it will be nice to plan something really sweet :luv:

Well since it's officially Monday on the east coast...here goes.

I'm up waiting for a decent hour to phone my inlaws. It's with a heavy heart that I report the passing of my father in law. :( My husband is a trooper but I fear this will hit him hard once the reality of it all settles in. We were just discussing him going to visit soon as his father has been ill for several months. I feel awful that his final words to his father were spoken over the telephone. :(

I'm so sorry. I never know what to do in those situations either so you're not alone. You just do the basics I guess and let them know you care and are there to listen. My husband lost his father when he was still in Egypt, right before we got married, and I felt so helpless when he called to tell me, though it was a blessing since he was ill with kidney disease for a very long time. (F)

GG....are in Iraq yet?

Oh wow was she going to Iraq? I'd be scared but I guess she's tougher than me. I thought she was going to Dubai or somewhere near there. I was thinking of her yesterday 'cause I watched the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. lol

So I've been watching a lot of movies because I'm bored and last night I watched Hitman which totally rocked. Anyway after that I went into the kitchen to do dishes and clean up before I went to sleep and OMG :blink: This show came on and although I couldn't see it from the kitchen I could hear it and thought it was some sort of infomercial until I got back into the living room and I swear to God I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. It was this show called "Cathouse" and I kept thinking to myself wow they sure do show it ALL!!! Now my job after my meeting today is to find out how to block this particular HBO channel when that stuff comes on. There's a code you have to punch in for anything PG13 and over but this was more like XXX and since my kids crack the code all the time that's not gonna work. I guess when the free 3 month trial is up we'll just discontinue but that sucks because it's cheaper than netflix and has a lot of good movies on it. *sigh*

You know I used to be totally against porn because I thought all the women were drugged up and didn't have a choice but a few of these women LOVE their frikkin job man! I'd go on and describe but it's Ramadan. lol Boy did I get an education though!:blink:

Thank you everyone for your lovely and kind wishes. (F) My FIL's liver was completely deteriorated and his kidneys were failing. He was suffering very badly for a few months now. The family is saddened but also relieved that their father is no longer suffering. They have more strength than I. I was a crying mess over the phone and my SIL was calming *me* down. Their faith is God is extraordinary. I have to give props to my husband as he did all he could for his father in his final months.

Moody, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of ur FIL. I am also horrible at words in tough situations. I usually end up trying to make the person smile and see things in a better/different way. May God give you, ur hubby, and the family strength and blessings through this ensha'allah. ((((hugs))))

Well...My weekend was nothing to sneeze at. I got home Sat afternoon, fell asleep about 10 minutes later whilst sittin' on the couch. They woke me up for supper and I stayed awake till like 6am with hubster....not doing anything....just listenin' to music and kickin' the snott outta ppl in Mafia wars. Woke up at 12pm Sunday with a migraine..omgggg it was so bad! Did laundry, kicked a few more butts, threw leftovers in the oven, ate enough to satisfy me, then went to bed by 930pm. That is all the weekend and I shared together. I'm not too tired but I reeeeeeally don't wanna be here today. I'm burned out **sizzle** lol

Oh Moody, I can't say how sorry I feel for you and your husbands situation. I am sure that he needs to grieve, but is faced doing this alone. How hard that must be. Don't be too hard on yourself for not knowing what to say. There really is nothing any one can say to take away the pain. But what you can do is be there for him when he needs a shoulder, and be there for him when he needs to take his mind off of it. Eventually time will heal these wounds. Until then just be his rock.

'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO, What a Ride'

Thanks M4E and Amal. (F)

I have my plane ticket already purchased for our previously planned visit in two weeks. I wish I could go now but I have responsibilities here (kids, work) that I have to keep. I really don't know how this guy does it. He's so strong, God love him. He went to work last night and everything. He said it helped to keep his mind busy.

You forgot to add....stop being such a pain in his rear for at least a little while. :D

and i see we've lost two mena members in the past week. perhaps we should be asking ourselves why - and not blaming those who left.

Moody so very sorry to hear about your families loss. I pray that GOd will give you the words to say and the comfort for you and so that you can give to your husband.

Hope everyoen else has a wonderful day.
