considering healthcare debate a reason for 'revolution' is ignorance.. there's nothing closely related to the original USA revolution, where there was an imposed regimen and not equal representation.

well, according to you, everybody who thinks different from you is ignorant and having the wrong information.. you must feel special..

When that sweet lil boy of yours does somthing wrong do you reward him?

Uncalled for and frankly, borderline TOS violation. Care to retract?

You are kidding...... right?

That is quite an inacurate story there Danno. ABC News who was quoted originally as to the size of the crowd there has refuted it saying that their estimation was 60-70k people. That's a far cry from a million.

ABC news  State run media makes me laugh.

Did you actually see any videos? 60-70k...... LOL

Is FOX News part of the state run media, too?

The tens of thousands of protesters marched to the U.S. Capitol chanting various slogans and waving posters that voiced a rather broad array of grievances against big government and the leaders, particularly President Obama, who the protesters blame for its size and scope.

I report - you decide...

He hates and fears the federal government, worships guns, fetishizes "liberty" (defined in almost purely negative terms, as freedom from external interference of any kind), embraces survivalism and sees himself as having acted in a proud American tradition of resistance to tyranny that goes back to the Founders.

Sounds like me and I'm no "right-wing zealot". I hate Republicans as much as I hate Democrats.

Well, well, well, turns out that the right wing nuts and their blogsphere have visual evidence that millions showed up in Washington D.C. Can't really argue with pictures of huge crowds, can you? There sure was a huge crowd in D.C. as seen on the picture. Certainly more than merely tens of thousands. It just wasn't the tea baggers' and birthers' party this past weekend as the RWN bloggers had claimed.

Tea_party_photo.jpg

Fine folks at Politifact took a look and came up with their ruling:

tom-pantsonfire.gif

In the competitive world of Washington protests, crowd size is often a matter of dispute. Organizers usually boast of huge crowds, while police and the news media offer much smaller estimates.

So supporters of Saturday’s “tea party” protests against President Barack Obama were quick to highlight their big turnout. To bolster countless claims on blogs and Facebook, many posted a photograph that showed a gargantuan crowd sprawling from Capitol Hill down the National Mall to the Washington Monument.

But it turns out the photo is more than 10 years old, apparently taken during a 1997 Promise Keepers rally.

...

There’s another problem with the photograph: It doesn’t include the National Museum of the American Indian, a building located at the corner of Fourth Street and Independence Avenue that opened on Sept. 14, 2004. (Looking at the photograph, the building should be in the upper right hand corner of the National Mall, next to the Air and Space Museum.) That means the picture was taken before the museum opened exactly five years ago. So clearly the photo doesn’t show the “tea party” crowd from the Sept. 12 protest.

Also worth noting are the cranes in front of the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. According to Randall Kremer, the museum’s director of public affairs, “The last time cranes were in front was in the 1990s when the IMAX theater was being built.”

It appears that the photo was actually taken in 1997 at a rally for Promise Keepers, a group for Christian men. According to the group’s Web site, nearly 1 million people attended the event. Photos of the Oct. 4, 1997, event that were posted on various Web sites in 2003, 2008 and earlier this year show either the same picture or a similar photo that has identical tents and what appear to be TV screens in the same locations.

Conservative bloggers who originally posted the picture have backed down.

What was it that Marc said again? Those damn FACTS will get you every time. They sure will. ;)

OH SNAP R!!!

Hate to be the party pooper for our RWN friends around here. Nah, not really.

Aside from the 2 million exaggeration - there were a lot of people that showed up for the rally. There are a lot of angry people out there. I don't think they are all angry about the same things, but all that anger is being channeled as hatred towards President Obama. In all the years I've followed politics, I've never seen so much hatred for a newly elected president like this. IMO, it's a cocktail of hatred from various factions.

I don't see it that way. What you have here are a few thousand people that left their trailer parks for the weekend to protest against a black Democrat that is occupying the White House. They're a minority. A vocal minority but a minority nonetheless. Public support for health care reform is growing again and this collection of birthers, racists, hypocrites and ignorants isn't going to change that.

There were far more people rallying in D.C. to protest President Bush's Iraq war and the President didn't give in to them either. The people now descending on Washington were - without exception I would argue - applauding the then President for ignoring the crowds (and public opinion at large) and pursuing the policies he thought were right.

President Obama should do the same now ignoring this vocal minority. Especially in light of majority support for his policy initiatives on health care reform.

Two million my ####.

By the way, I was in the area the next day and noticed a US flag that would have been carried during the demonstration, had fallen out of a car and left on the parkway; for cars to trample on. I stopped and got out and picked it up.

Republican talk on being patriotic = basically, what's in it for my bottom line. That it why you guys have no qualms with America looking like it is. From 1776 to the 60's, everyone worked on building America. Putting an American on the moon. AKA TEAM WORK; LOOKING AT FOR ONE ANOTHER. Now Repubs are working on literally destroying it; all in the name of an individuals wealth and this delusional fantasy that the government is the bad guy while the CEO's and executives of health care companies are on your side. Seriously wake up..

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.
