HAPPY SUNDAY MENA PEEPS!!! I'm still trying to recover from all the shopping I did Saturday night. A friend and I went to the Somali mall here in Minneapolis and I got TONS of new scarfs!! Absolutely beautiful ones for only $5! Everytime I go there I swear the store owners must think I am crazy, this women walking in NOT covered saying Assalaamu Alaykom and buying hijabs I love to wear scarfs pinned around my shoulders, inshaAllah one day I will slip it over my head and keep it there.

Anyhow, have a great Sunday. Take care everyone cuz Monday is right around the corner.

Honestly, I think people need to take things a little less personally. And if you find VJ is not the place for you because there are MEAN people here, then by all means, stop reading and posting in the MENA section and stick to the other boards if you need help with the visa stuff.

The people here can only hurt you if you let them. B)

Also, taking a break never hurts. People do it often.

You know, Melly, MENA has actually become very tame compared to years past. I know that must seem crazy, but this place used to be off the chain when it came to some different topics. We had the Muslim Olympics (as Charles used to call it) at least once a week and people just knew how to tear you apart - it was scary. Now, it's all hug hug, kiss kiss.

Well I'm never giving advice anymore that's for sure. From now on I'm eatin' rainbows and poopin' butterflies like that cartoon movie. (i forget the name).

I watched Double Jeapordy today. Ashley Judd is such a good actress. I wish I had her figure!!!!!! Love it when she goes to buy the Armani dress and the shop owner guesses she's a size 4 and she gives her "the look" and says she's a size 2. I don't think I've ever utter the words, "I'm a size 2" in my flippin' life.

The cartoon movie is "Horton Hears a Who" and Katie says it.....lord help me for knowing that, I've only seen it 500 gazillion times! Thank God we have moved on to some other movies, but it is always the same 3-4.

thunderstorm yesterday evening with all it's beauty and sounds...and....only a few raindrops!! But what a show of lights, thunder and wind. Before the storm the sunset was like a painting.

Hi everyone,

I have been fostering 4 little kitties for about 3 weeks. They are ready to be adopted out. I get this message from this women that wants one of them so I call her back. An older women answers and said she is her mother in law, and that they had a fire in their house and she would get the daughter in law to call me back. So about an hour later the women calls me back. She had the most gruff country accent. Anyway, she told me that they had a fire and I asked her was it electrical and she said no, that her daughter had set the fire in her closet. I asked her how old she was and she said 8yrs old. Then she goes on to tell me that this is the second time she has set the house on fire. I asked was she playing with matches and the women said no, cigarettes. Then the women goes on to tell me that their cat had run away and that the daughter had cut the cats whiskers off. (no wonder it ran away), so I told her that all had been spoken for. I wasn't about to let them have one of my kittehs.
