I've emailed the embassy yesterday about the mailing address issue and still haven't got any reply yet... Do you ladies know how I can change the mailing address? Do I need to send them a letter? How long will it take them to respond? Oh, do we need inform USCIS and/or NVC too?

I'm planning on doing it today inshaAllah...

I changed Yazied's while it was still at NVC, just by calling them. ok, I just realized that I still have our case #'s and NVC's phone on a sticky note under my keyboard at work  1 603 334 0700. Anyway, They did it while I was on the phone... and then I emailed the consulate just to make sure they got the changed address when they received it from NVC. DO let NVC know, then by the time the consulate gets it, it will already have the preferred address.

Jackie--- that RULES! 99 days :dancing:

Well, our case left NVC already.. Do we still have to let them know?

My husband filed DCF for me in June, but the embassy was processing the petition as a F4 petition which bascially meant that they were not processing it at all b/c u have to wait for a visa number to become available in like 10 years or sometthing. Anyway...it took us like 2 months to find out what was going on AND to get them to process it correctly which gave us a new petition filed date of August 17th.....so i'm am still waiting for packet 3 b/c the petition had to be sent to Athens for Adam Walsh check and is now SLOWLY on its way back to cairo via Dipolmatic Pouch. .

So thats my long convoluted story.

That's a long story :wow: I really hope you get your visa soon xxx

no, Im sorry I was thinking that you had a few days until it left the NVC. Just email the consulate

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Ok, I'm writing down the email of change of address now. Should I state all the reasons of the change of address? Or should I ask them just change the previous mailing address to the new one without stating reasons?

I would say you need to change the address so that its reliable for DHL and to make sure someone is home while you are working or something to that effect. Suggestions...anyone else?

This is the form of the email I wrote

Dear Consular Staff,

My fiance mailed our K1 Visa petition back in June 2009. We got our first approval notice on June 12th, and second approval notice on September 14th. Our USCIS case number is: [EAC XXXXX]. And our NVC case number is: [XXXXXXX].

I have a request about my mailing address. While filing our I-129F, I attached a note with the application stating the mailing address on which I would like to receive my mail on [which is a PO mailbox]. I contacted the embassy over a month ago asking if it is possible to receive visa packets on my mail box, and I was told to check the issue with DHL. Then I contacted DHL and their answer was it is not possible that they deliver packets to a mailbox in a PO.

Could you change my mailing address to the address below:

[XXXXXXXXX]

Waiting for your reply.

Thank you,

[First name Last Name]

I feel kinda unsatisfied with how it looks, too much details ha? What do you think Annie?

Thank you Lisa and big thank you to you Annie with helping me with this. (F)

I just sent the email. John thinks it contains too much details. I just hope we here anything back from the embassy tomorrow or at least a fast response.

Hi Ladies...just checking in. How is everyone? Lisa, Jackie, Beth, Kenza, Sharifa, Aya....I hope everyone is doing well. My hubby is still looking for a job and he is getting pretty discouraged. So I have started looking for a second job since my ex-husband stopped paying child support 6 months ago I am really struggling to pay all my bills. :( But I know God will pull us through.

Take care ladies.

wow, sorry to hear that Amanda

Are there any convenient or retail stores around you guys that he can work just a few days a week at least? I know thats not the ideal situation but its better than nothing while he looks for something else. I would really hate to see you have 2 jobs and Im sure he would too.

Yeah he has applied almost everywhere you can think...Bojangles, Lowes, Pizza Hut, gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants. The town we live in is pretty small. He has gone to the local temp agency and gave his information, as well as, the employment security commission. He really is willing to take whatever right now...doesn't matter what. So hopefully something will come along soon.

Hi Jackie.

Congratulations Kenza...glad to hear your hubby arrived safely!
