Hello everyone! This weekend my husband finally comes home. :-) Since the tickets were kind of last minute, I had a hard time getting seats for us together. I'm hoping someone on the flight will trade with us. But my seat is right behind his, so if not, that's not too bad.

Hey Beth, any news about an interview date yet?

Hi Sis, no nothing yet, I keep watching DHL for a packet to Paris, I might go ahead and send the forms to Paris once I see its sent to them, and ask for a October interview. I have the DS-230 form Part 1 , DS-2001 Interview Readiness form, and copy of his French residency card. Maybe they will accept it and give us a interview. All of this Im referring to the K3.

Congratulations to everyone whose love ones will be joining them soon. I am sending my fiancee the information for packet 3 and hopefully he will have his PCC and medical report back by next week. Due to EID holiday in Saudi, not a lot is happening in terms of paperwork movement but hopefully everything will resume next week.

Kind of personal question, but I need your input of who is right and who is wrong. My husband is going to wax his unibrow before he comes. He says he wants to do it once he gets here in the US because there might be problems with immigration and his original pic (with the unibrow) in his passport/visa. I say it doesn't matter and he should do it there before he comes (although either way i just want it done!). Is he right? Thanks!

Beth, glad things with your visa are going right now. :star:

Sharifah, inshaAllah your hubby will have his interview soon and you two are going to be reunited again in no time. (F)

Childress, Congrats on your hubby's visa.

Sandra and Andrea, praying that you get NOA2's very soon. (F)(F)

I have a question ladies... When filling our I-129F I wrote my physical address and wrote a note of my mailing address (a mail box in PO office on which I receive all my mail) which we attached in our K1 packet. A few days after NOA1 I read that the embassy does not deliver visa packet or passports to mail boxes... So I called the embassy to make sure, after waiting on the phone for 20 minutes a lady finally answered and told me "it's not of our concern to where you receive the visa packets, we just need a physical address. You can check that with DHL and see how they can help you." So, I called DHL and they said they only deliver passports  So I said don't you deliver packet 3 and 4 too?! And the guy said: "No, our contract with the embassy is that we only deliver passports. But you always can request to have your visa packets sent via DHL. And, unfortunately, we don't deliver to mail boxes because there might be additional fees and in that case you cannot receive the packet until you pay"...! They also said that 'I can always pick 'my stuff' up at any DHL office' So, that is very confusing....!!

I was planning on emailing the embassy once we get our NOA2 and NVC case number and remind them of the address where I like the visa packets to be sent to... Now that we got NOA2, I'm not sure what to do or what to start with... How can I fix that with DHL... I really am not sure what to do first? It's not an option now to receive any visa mail to my physical address, it would be a big problem and our visa could get stopped... Any ideas? Has any of you had this situation with DHL?

Aya, in our experience with the embassy and DHL, they did deliver packet 3 & 4, but they delivered them postage due. so i'm guessing that's why they don't send them to PO Boxes, because they would have no way of being paid. But as far as the address, maybe you could have them send it to a friend or family's address? we had an address issue (hubby used his sister's address across the street from his, because his address was confusing) and the embassy said they didn't care where they sent it, and that "we will find you wherever you are"... hahah. uhm? Ok. Anyway I would send an email to the consulate giving them a physical address (non-PO Box) and see if you can update your address via letter or something.

Hello ladies... Last week has been pretty hectic for me... I have been out of Cairo for the eid vacation (over 5 days) and had no access to the internet except on my cellphone which does not let me access VJ... Anyways, an update and an URGENT question about the mailing address problem...

Before traveling I called DHL to check how I can check with them to have packet 3, packet 4, and my passport delivered to the nearest DHL branch to me which is just 10 minutes away from where I live... They said that I have to check that with the embassy first and see if that is ok with them... John and I have been waiting until he gets NOA2 in the mail, and then email the embassy... He received NOA2 on Sept. 21st (two days ago) and yesterday he called NVC to get our case number and see if the case is out of NVC yet, and they told him that OUR CASE IS ALREADY FORWARDED TO CAIRO!!!!!! I have not solved the mail problem yet and now I'm expecting packet 3 in may be less than a week :wacko: I was just waiting till I get on here and ask you all if having the packets delivered to that DHL branch near my house is a good idea? Will it raise a red flag??? I have been seriously thinking about Sharifah's and Tamara's offers to have the packets delivered to any of their mailing addresses in Cairo (I'm very thankful to you both for your kind offer (F) )...

So which is best to do... Take an hour-break from work and go to DHL and go ask about the fees and so on (which I'm expecting to be crazily expensive) and then email the embassy TODAY with that I want them delivering my visa packets to DHL... Or should I accept Sharifah's or Tamara's offers and still email the embassy with it today.... Which is best to do? Will any of these two options raise a red flag? Should I call the embassy or email them? How can I even make sure the embassy is going to consider my request and this is going to go right... *sigh*

I haven't had no sleep last night and I'm totally drained :( My phone didn't let me online or let me send texts yesterday and I only knew that our case is in Cairo when John texted at 4 am telling me it is...! I just went to the police station today filed my police certificate (oh, do I need to get it translated?), and taken passport style pics... I should go receive both tomorrow afternoon... I'm going to type the list of things to do and John has to send and let you have a look at it and tell me if something is missing...

I have so much on my mind and this is TOO stressful... I gotta go now to head to work... I'm going to wait for your replies ladies in the next couple of hours... THIS IS VERY URGENT... I really need to get done with this today... :(

Sorry, I had to reply to this because it made me laugh. My SO has a unibrow, and I always joke about it. I asked him if he would ever wax it and his response was "baby, this is what makes me sexy" LOL he is so funny, I just had to chime in. I always joke I will wax it in his sleep...

I'm sorry but the only answer I have to your questions is about the police certificate. Ahmed did have his translated into English. As for the other questions, Aya sweety, I don't have an answer. I don't know what the right answer is or if it would raise a red flag. Although my offer is still open. I already talked to Ahmed and he said it was perfectly fine to use our home address in Cairo. Please let me know.

Aya,

I would totally take sharifah up on her generous offer. Its probably the most stress free one. No hassles with the consulate/DHL no wondering about red flags.....

Kenza,

I dont think he will have a huge problem at POE or anything if he waxes it, but if its going to stress him out that much, let him keep it until after he arrives.....then race him to the beauty supply for some wax! :P
