ROC Timeline

8/1/12: ROC window opens
9/4/12: ROC packet sent
9/8/12: ROC packet delivered to VSC
9/12/12: Check cashed
9/14/12: NOA letter received (NOA dated 9/10/12)
9/20/12: Biometrics letter received (Bio appointment 10/15/12)
10/12/12: Early biometrics walk-in

4/27/13: RFE received

6/17/13: RFE response sent

7/1/13: ROC petition approved

7/5/13: GC received in the mail.

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive,and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

I'm SUPER excited for you....feel like its my own interview. :) Good LUCK!

6-22-09 - Filed petition at embassy in Cairo

8-12-09 - Contacted DOS for info on petition...found out petition is filed incorrectly...

8-12-09 - Tried contacting embassy with new info...no response for 3 days..

8-15-09 - Made appt to resubmit petition on 8-17

8-17-09 - CO at embassy informed us that correction was made and petition sent to Athens for approval.

8-26-09 - Petition approved by Athens USCIS

8-28-09 - Petition mailed to Cairo by Dipl. Pouch via Washington DC.

9-29-09 - Petition arrive at Cairo....

10-12-09 - Package 3 arrived and also sent back same day...

11-10-09 - Package 4 arrived

12-22-09 - Interview date - APPROVED

12-23-09 - DOS says Visa Issued

12-30-09 - Visa in hand

12-31-09 - Enshallah arrive back home :)

Hi ya'll. Just stopping by to say hi to the waitin crowd.

Looks like no ticket in hand til January. I'm numb and can only find comfort in the thought that everything happens for a reason and it's not up to me to question God's plan. If it's gonna happen it will and no amount of me freakin out will make it happen sooner.

I am major disappointed but he has to wait til Dec 28 to get his permission letter to leave. So no romantic reunion at Ohare on Christmas Eve....no toast to the New Year with sparkly grape juice. It will be me and my kitteh bringing in January.

Well hell, now I have time to lose a few pounds.

I think it might be better to have the holidays settled before he comes...more time for just you guys ;) If he came right before christmas you would be schlepping around to the families houses the second day he was here right? Try to look at it as a blessing in disguise, low key relaxed reunion instead of stressed out holiday time reunion. :)

hey guys. coming to check on the ladies whose interviews are coming up soon and see how everyone else is doing.

Kenza, I think thats an awesome compromise. ;) Y doesnt like it when Im out after dark either Tina (HI!! btw and hugs)but its not been an issue really, he realizes that its necessary sometimes and now that its dark at friggin 6 its different heh a girl has to shop you know! :P

well, I bought a live tree for christmas this year to enjoy that "christmas smell" well, im here to tell you that we picked a tree out, got a stand..got it home and........it has NO SCENT! figures :lol: so I guess I'll be getting a wreath to fill up the house with that yummy pine smell. Or the artificial spray stuff :(

next year im burying my nose in that tree to make sure it smells!

Im almost done with all my shopping, well for J anyway and I got Y an early gift with some resistance heh now Im the one addicted to it..playstation lol

i guess thats about it with me guys, I hope you are all good and I wish for speedy reuions for those still waiting.

Lisa....Bath & Body Works has a very good smelling "tree" spray...I think it is called Balsam Fir, but it smells like the real deal. I have an artificial tree & then just spray that every now & then and its great. Also, just a tip...my mom used to do this and I do it now too around the holidays. To get that nice "holiday" smell, you can put a pot on the stove & simmer some cinnamon sticks and whole cloves...smells very warm and inviting!

I hope everyone is doing well. I don't know why I get the e-mail alerts that someone has posted to this thread after 3 pages worth of posts have been made. :(

You are right~~ we talked about it today and it is out of his hands. I was just really bummed cuz I have been counting down for SOOOOOOOOOOO long now and he totally messed up my countdown lists! :P

We have been apart 19 months...I guess another 2 weeks won't kill me. (more solitaire and instant coffee)
